This includes logistical planning, field mapping and sampling with the principal aims of producing natural resource projects (minerals, energy, and hydrogeology). To participate in research specifically in the application of engineering geological techniques in such infrastructure projects and development on land underlain by dolomite Negotiated Salary As per CGS determination Qualifications BSc Hons (Engineering geology ) Valid driver s license (desirable but not essential). Eligible for SACNASP registration as trainee scientist Experience None Generic Key Activities Conduct site specific engineering geological investigations. Perform data searches for queries received from outside or internal clients.
6 Conduct occasional research into specific engineering geological problems. Compile reports on investigations and research findings, and present these to the clients. Presentation of investigation findings, in written and other forms. Liaison with consultants and clients when required on engineering geological matters on an ad hoc basis. 9 Improve analysis turnaround times (on Majors and Trace Elements analysis) Ensure that all analysis targets are reached (on Majors and Trace Elements analysis). Reduce instrument and equipment downtime in the XRF section. Follow laboratory standard operating procedures and work instructions. Produce accurate and validated analysis data. Document all corrective and preventative measures to all audit observations and findings. Initiate, execute, maintain and monitor quality control on all procedures employed in the XRF Section. Initiate, monitor and report method validation on laboratory test methods and align them to international best practices. Investigate, document and close all non-conformances that are raised in the XRF section. Report the status of the XRF Section quality control management to the Section Head on a monthly and quarterly basis.
