Scope This Specification prescribes the minimum requirements for the Hydrostatic and Pneumatic pressure testing of new and re-used Piping and Mechanical equipment within NAM Asset Groningen.
3 In general reference is made to the applicable codes, standards and specifications. Additional requirements are prescribed in this Specification. Deviations Any conflict in technical requirements of this specification and related technical requirements of other documents referenced to and/or used in conjunction with this specification shall immediately be brought under the attention of the GLT-PLUS Mechanical department for resolution. Hydrostatic Pressure Testing General The hydrostatic pressure testing shall be in accordance with the Rules for pressure vessels (RToD), T0240 (for re-used equipment/piping, built before 29 May 2002), PED2014/68/EU, Annex I, para. , NAM and GLT-PLUS standards/specifications as specified in section Equipment and piping which have been pressure tested at the Manufacturer's works shall not be re-tested after installation, unless equipment is provided with butt-welded nozzle connections.
8 All NDE and PWHT (if applicable) shall be completed with acceptable results before pressure testing. Gaskets required for services shall be used during hydrostatic pressure test. Special precautions shall be taken if weather conditions can cause freezing or heating up of the test water. To prevent water entrance in the gas compressors (if applicable), the compressor suction and discharge piping shall be hydrostatically pressure tested by using special blind flanges with draining provisions. After testing, the equipment and piping shall be drained to prevent corrosion.
9 Do not leave systems filled with water. For cleaning before hydrostatic pressure testing and conservation after pressure testing, reference is made to DEP Hydrostatic (strength and leak tightness) test of Glass-Fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP) pipeline and piping systems shall be in accordance with section 10 of DEP Hydrostatic pressure test of pipelines shall be in accordance with NEN 3650 and DEP Gen. For the cleaning and hydrostatic pressure testing of the drain systems, reference is made to doc. no. 200011000426 , issue 31-12-2013.
10 Test Equipment Test equipment shall comply with the requirements of DEP , section 1) Only a small-capacity test pump shall be used for pressurization. 2) A pressure relief valve shall be installed on the discharge of the test pump. This pressure relief valve (PRV) shall be set at 110 % of test pressure. 3) A set of 2 pressure gauges shall be installed at the pump discharge and on highest point of the equipment being tested. - The gauges shall have an accuracy as specified in the applicable code and shall have a scale range from 0 to a maximum of 3 times the test pressure.
