As usual, it means that the top riders will definitely be on the start list, but this year there is even better news. After two long years, you can finally be there in person again in Roeselare and Waregem! What's more, in 2022, we are celebrating an anniversary. The women will start their tenth edition of Dwars door Vlaanderen! What better reason to be there? And this year is no different. What's new is that this year we will present the riders to you on the Stationsplein.

On foot The starting zone is easily accessible on foot from the centre of Roeselare. Moreover, this year the train station is literally at the starting site. By bike Do you live on the outskirts of Roeselare? Why not get your bike out of the shed and put your best sporting foot forward just like the riders!

5 Roeselare Station has several bike parking facilities without access control. Don't forget your lock so that you can secure your bike and leave it behind safely. Public transport The start is right at the station this year, it couldn't be easier! Several trains run per hour from Bruges and Gent-Sint-Pieters to Roeselare. In 2022, Dwars door Vlaanderen will start in Roeselare for the 15th time, and that's no coincidence. Roeselare breathes cycling and sport in general. For example, there are some important sports sites on the city's territory, such as the Defraeye/Sercu cycling track, the Schiervelde Complex and the TraX. site, and Roeselare is also home to the KOERS. Museum of Cycle Racing. The museum is an interactive ride through the history of cycling. Its collection includes extraordinary trophies, racing bikes, testimonials and archive footage. So what makes Roeselare so special when it comes to cycling? Cyriel Van Hauwaert (Paris-Roubaix 1908, Milan-San Remo 1908) and Roeselare local Odiel Defraeye, who became the first Belgian ever to win the Tour in 1912, unleashed a genuine (and lasting) cycling craze in the city.

8 Fans from the very beginning can head there as usual for the finish of the races on the Verbindingsweg. And, since last year, the women start at the Hippodrome. Moreover, this year we are celebrating the 10th edition of the Dwars door Vlaanderen Women Elite. Enough reasons to head to Waregem on Wednesday 30 March! 9 HOW TO GET THERE. On foot The finish is easy to reach by foot from the centre of Waregem. Do you live nearby? Opt to rack up your 10,000 steps walking to and from the race! By bike Park your bike at the station: there is a guarded bicycle parking facility two minutes walk from the station and those at the station are also accessible without access control. From the station you can take a bus to the finish zone (more info below). Looking for a place closer to the finish line? There is also a large bicycle parking facility near Regenboog Stadium, on the Zuiderlaan side. Don't forget to bring your lock to secure your bike and leave it behind safely. Public transport Trains depart regularly to Waregem from Gent-Sint-Pieters and Gent-Dampoort stations. The journey takes 20 to 30 minutes. Then take bus 7 (Kortrijk Deinze) to the Waregem Markt stop, just over a kilometre from the finish line. Be sure to check the timetable for trains to Waregem on and take the train to the Dwars door Vlaanderen finish line without any parking problems.

Please note that the car parks and streets around the finish line are reserved/. closed for the race. Parking is possible in the city centre car parks. Wheelchair users Don't want to miss a second of the action in Waregem? You can park in the streets and parkings surrounding the finish area. Parkings reserved for the race convoy are not accessible to the public. Find out more about mobility and accessibility here. EXPLORE WAREGEM! Waregem is as passionate about cycling as it is about horses. You can explore the famous Gaverbeek Hippodrome, discover the role of the horse and the Americans during World War I at the visitor centre and relax in the centrally-located Casier park. Along the many beautiful cycling and walking routes you will recognise many remains of a rich flax industry, definitely recommended!
