2 Government of Karnataka Karnataka Examinations Authority 2 CONTENTS IMPORTANT: Candidates are hereby informed to go through the Information Bulletin carefully and understand / acquaint themselves:- 1. Candidates have to apply online for CET-2018. For admission to Engineering, AYUSH, Farm Science, courses KEA will conduct the CET. For admission to Medical and Dental courses candidates have to qualify in the NEET 2018 examination 2. Information Bulletin can be downloaded from the Website 3. Online submission of Application Form may be made by accessing KEA Website Instructions for Online submission of Application Form are available in the Information Bulletin and on the KEA Website 4. Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin and on KEA Website Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.

3 5. Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future correspondence. (i) At least three printouts of the finally submitted online Application. (ii) Proof of fee paid (iii) 2-3 copies of identical Photograph that scanned and uploaded on the Online Application. 6. (a) Candidate must ensure that mobile numbers, e-mail address entered in the online application form are his/her own as in case of urgency KEA may send information / communications by SMS or mail on given mobile number and mailing ID only. (b) The Candidate / parents shall be held responsible for non-receipt of latest information due to wrong mobile number or mailing address filled in the On Line Application Form. 7. Candidates must preserve the Admit Card till the admission in College or Institution. 8. For the latest updates, candidates must remain in touch with the KEA Website till the completion of final round of counselling.

Candidates / parents are advised to visit KEA Website at least twice in a day for the latest news / updates and also check their mobile / e-mail as in case of urgency KEA may send the information / communications. 3 ITEM NO. 5 The candidate and his / her father s - mother s who s Gross Annual Income is below Lakhs are eligible to claim benefit of reservation under 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories. The information furnished by the candidate in the CET-2018 online application form with regard to Caste / Category and Annual Income remains the same for the purpose of assignment of ranks / selection or allotment of a seat and no change will be entertained in future for any reason. If the information furnished by the candidates in the application form or any other document/s submitted by the candidates / parents are found to be false / incorrect / tampered / forged such candidate's seat will be cancelled at any point of time during his / her course of study and criminal proceedings as per rules will be initiated by the Government against the candidate.

6 A candidate who had obtained a seat in any discipline through KEA (CET Cell) in any of the previous years and not surrendered the seat before the last date fixed for entry of options for final round of seat allotment for the respective disciplines will not be eligible for allotment of a seat to the same discipline during 2018. However, he / she is eligible to appear for CET-2018 for allotment of seat in any other discipline. Eg: If a candidate had selected Engineering seat during previous year, he / she will not be considered for allotment of seats in the same discipline. However he / she is eligible to appear for CET-2018 for selection of Medical / Dental / ISM&H / Architecture / Farm Science courses, B-Pharma / Pharma-D, if he / she is eligible. Further, the seat selected during the previous year gets automatically cancelled, upon selection of a seat in adifferent discipline during this year.

8 Candidates claiming the benefit under various Special categories should produce the relevant original Special category certificates along with TWO sets of photocopies COMPULSORILY as per the above schedule, to KEA IN PERSON ONLY DURING OFFICE HOURS. They should also produce three photocopies of their 'CET 2018' Admission Ticket. Candidates should not send their original special category documents / certificates through Post OR any other private arrangement. An acknowledgment slip will be issued for having received the special category certificates which has to be retained till original are taken back from KEA. Candidates who do not submit their original Special Category Certificates on the notified dates, WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE for further verification and they will not be considered for allotment of seats under the respective Special categories.

INTRODUCTION The Karnataka Common Entrance Test 2018 is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility / merit, for admission of Karnataka candidates and the ward/s of Jammu & Kashmiri migrants to the First year or First semester of full time courses for Government share of seats in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Naturopathy & Yoga, Unani, Homoeopathy, Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Farm Science courses , Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry ( & ) (Hons) Agriculture, (Hons) Sericulture, (Hons) Horticulture, (Hons) Forestry, Agri Bio Tech, (Home Science), ( ), (Food Technology), (Dairy Tech), (Fisheries), (Food Science &Tech)., (Hons) Agri. Marketing & Co Op, B. Pharma and Pharma D course, in Government / University / Private Aided / Private Un Aided Professional Educational Institutions in the State of Karnataka for the academic year 2018 19.

10 Admission to Government seats shall be made in accordance with the Karnataka Selection of Candidates for Admission to Government Seats in Professional Educational Institutions Rules, 2006 (in short Rules) as amended from time to time and therefore the details and instructions contained in this Information Booklet are subject to the said Rules and Government orders. In case of any discrepancy, the Rules shall prevail. NOTE: (i) The candidates who wish to seek admission to Medical or Dental or AYUSH courses must compulsorily qualify in the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam conducted by the CBSE Board, New Delhi. The candidates who qualify in the NEET 2018 exam will only get the eligibility for admission to Medical and Dental courses through KEA for Government share of seats. (ii) For admission to Architecture course candidate should compulsorily appear for NATA conducted by the Council of Architecture or for JEE Paper 2 examination.
