Eco club formation at Aditya Birla Public school, Veraval On the occasion of the International Earth Day, the school formed an Eco- club with an initial membership of about 40 students who were declared the green Ambassadors. To mark this auspicious day the green Ambassadors decorated each classroom with floral and leafy saplings planted and adopted by them. They even named the saplings after themselves. Aditya Birla Public School celebrates Earth Day Later, the school organized a drawing and poster display competition. The theme for the competition was Save Earth, Save Mankind . Prior to this, the members of the club organized a tree plantation campaign and planted a number of herbal and medicinal plants in the school premises. The Eco club also organized a mass campaign green Veraval , Clean Veraval which has become a campaign of the whole city, joined by the people from different walks of life and city administration who work hand in hand with the young students.

2 A well planned rain water harvesting system, use of recycled paper in the school, arrangement of separate bins for biodegradable and non degradable wastes are some of the other measures taken by the school to nip the problem of environmental degradation in the of Eco- club , Alok Senior Secondary School, Udaipur Alok Senior Secondary School has been running Eco- club Since 1990 with a motive of generating awareness among students regarding deteriorating condition of environment, overuse of natural resources, water conservation etc. This club performs two activities in a month such as ban polythene, use paper bags, Tree plantation, cleaning of lakes, Nukkad nataks, Human chain ralleys, distribution of pamphlets, distribution of paper and cloth bags. The two important documentary films Mr. Polythene Hum Tumse Darte Hain and Ek Shahar Ka Dard were also directed and telecaste to generate awareness among the masses of Udaipur living in rural and urban areas.

3 The students have also worked on projects like water conservation, water sampling. Water tank has been constructed on the terrace of the school to promote idea of water harvesting among masses through the most effective tool 35 April-June 2010A street play in Progress conducted by Eco club of Alok Sr. Sec. School, Udaipurof education to channelise the families through individuals. The Eco- club also encourages tree plantation by distributing small shrubs to the students to plant them outside their house, to water and take care of it regularly. The follow-up of this drive is also recorded by the incharge teachers. This programme is called Vruksh-Mitra Yojana (befriend-the plants). Alok Eco- club has a series of achievements at state, district and national level to its credit. Director of the club has been acknowledged as the president of Aravali Paryavaran and Jheel Sanrakshan Mahasangh, Udaipur and President of Citizen society of Environmental Awareness.

4 Biogas Plant by Eco club of Shri Haria Multipurpose School, DungraEco club members presenting the Biogas plant constructed at Shri Haria Multi purpose School, Dungra Eco club members of the school along with the assistance of teachers constructed a Bio-gas plant and installed it near the school kitchen. This plant consists of small barrel in which Bio-waste is collected. The students bring the waste from their homes and feed the plant everyday. Students of XI standard are given the duty for the proper maintenance of the A. P. J. Abdul Kalam s interaction with Eco- club members of JNV KagalDr. Abdul Kalam interacting with Eco club members at Kagal Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam had an interaction with Eco- club members of JNV Kagal, at Social Forestry, Central Nursery, Kagal on 25th February 2010 at am. He planted a Peepal sapling in the presence of 40 Student members of the Eco club and the teachers.

5 The short interaction gave a new vision to the students of the National green Corps and every one present there. Eco- club activities at Abhinav Public School, Pitampura Tree Plantation drive was launched in the school, under the Each one plant one programme on April 22, 2010. Many activities were held at this occasion including placards depicting hazards of environmental pollution, 36Be the Changedrawing and painting competition on the theme green Earth, Clean Earth and poem recitation showing the concern of pollution. The celebration was a part of the school s efforts to sensitize the students about their responsibilities towards the environment. The Principal administered an oath to the members of the Eco- club to plant trees and to preserve and protect the environment. She also stressed the need to maintain pollution free environment to make the atmosphere conducive for growing plants.

6 The highlight of the programme was a play depicting the plight of farmers lured by the greedy builders to sell off their by teachers and students of Udaya Public School Students and teachers of Udaya Public School under the banner of ECO club of Udaya (Promoted by the UP pollution Control Board, Lucknow) organized a huge rally to make aware the students and the people about the importance of water. The rally was flagged off by the principal of The Udaya Public School. The rally was to spread the message that water is a very precious organized by Eco club of Udaya Public School, Activities on EnvironmentAnnual function at Ganga International School, New Delhi on the theme Save the Environment Cultural presentation by students of Ganga International School on the theme Save Environment. Ganga International School, New Delhi celebrated its Annual Day , Tarang-2010 with great fervour on 1st May, spectacular evening was made memorable by the gracious presence of the esteemed Chief Guest Joshi, Chairman, CBSE.

7 The Principal, Ms. Charu Kapoor welcomed Mr. Joshi and other distinguished guests. The theme of the cultural bonanza was Save the Environment. The students from LKG to XII mesmerized the audience with their mind blowing performances. Mr. Vineet Joshi appreciated the efforts of the Management and the Staff for leaving no stone unturned for the all round development of the students. He gave away the prizes and trophies to outstanding GISians to acknowledge their achievements. The Chief Guest also acknowledged the whole hearted efforts put in by each and every member of GIS that made the major mega event of the school a grand 201037 Question and Answer session was organized on What is the need of understanding our Planet and its environment . A special assembly was conducted on 22nd April, 10 to commemorate World Earth Day with the message that we need to nurture and cherish our Earth and pass it on safe and clean to the future generations.

8 The students were inspired to contribute in different ways to protect our environment by recycling waste, preserving water and so making competition as a part of Environment week at Summer Fields SchoolWorld Environment Day celebration at Jyothis Central School, Kazhakuttom World Environment Day was celebrated in Jyothis Central School, Kazhakutom, Thiruvanathapuram on 5th June 2010 in a unique way. A programme Vanamitravali was launched with the commitment that each student will plant a tree in the premises of their home. Poster competition was conducted for the students of III to XII. Drawing competition was conducted for classes III and IV on the topic One Earth One Family . For classes VI and VII the topic was Our Earth Our Habitat, Our Home . Essay writing competition on the Topic A Tree for Peace was Conducted for Standard VI, VIII and IX and for Standard X and XII the topic was "Global Warming".

9 Earth day celebrated at plantation by teachers of On the occasion of Earth Day the entire school fraternity including the Principal and staff of BBPS observed a plantation drive in the school campus. Each one was asked to carry a sapling, study it scientifically about its conditions of germination and growth and thereafter to plant it at the right Fields School Celebrates Environment Week The school organized Environment Week which aimed at sensitizing students about the Environment. The week started with the morning assembly on 20th April and the Chief Guest was Pandey from Delhi University. He interacted with the students in the assembly and laid stress on various issues like natural disasters and global warming. The Principal, Malhotra motivated students to become more and more environment friendly.

10 Various competitions like Rangoli Making, Poster Making and Power Point Presentation were held in which children participated most enthusiastically. It was followed by Plantation of saplings . A dance drama was enacted about the Global Warming, Pollution and other environmental problems. A movie show was organized for Class 38Be the Change The Teachers Collected more than 50 charts from the students. Shri. Sharma Sr. Principal and Smt. Kavitha spoke on the occasion. A Neem Tree was planted in the front side of the school. Launch of Vana Mitravali at Jyothis Central school, KazhakuttamWorld Environment Day Celebrations at Rashtrotthana Vidya Kendra, BangaluruStudents cleaning the campus on World Environment day. Rashtrottnana Vidya Kendra Bengaluru celebrated World environment. Children, teachers and staff members wore green colour dresses.
