Ed Dev TRUST has a strong commitment to Sub Saharan Africa and has been working in Somalia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Kenya. Founded in 1968 EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT TRUST (EdDevTrust) has been transforming lives by improving EDUCATION around the world for 50 years.

4 We improve school systems at scale and provide employability and careers services to young people and adults. We own and manage a portfolio of schools, as a not-for-profit, we invest annually in our programme of EDUCATION research that informs policymaking around the world as well as our own work. The TEACH Programme The Teacher Professional DEVELOPMENT (TPD) component of TEACH is a 12 million FCDO programme. Teacher Effectiveness and Equitable Access for All Children (TEACH) is a new programme that builds on the successful EDUCATION DEVELOPMENT Fund (EDF) programme that was funded by FCDO Zimbabwe and that ended in July 2019. TEACH is led by Ministry of Primary and Secondary EDUCATION (MOPSE) and works to support their priorities on improving teacher effectiveness. TEACH is expected to contribute to a positive shift in learning outcomes in Zimbabwe, leaving no child behind.

5 The programme is expected to target the poorest schools so that they remain functional and can meet basic operational needs and minimum functionality. It will also improve teacher effectiveness in the classroom and contribute to wider reforms of the national EDUCATION system, including improving financing systems and inclusion of all leaners. There is also a focus on supporting MOPSE to end violence in schools by developing a comprehensive approach to safeguarding and positive discipline. The delivery approach is based on three cross-cutting pillars 5 1. System strengthening Identify and address systemic issues that will enable and support achievement of objectives 2. Capacity building improve knowledge, beliefs and practice at school and district level 3. Research and MEL research for adaptive programming with effective MEL system This will be achieved through 4 focused objectives 1.

6 Aligning pre-service and in-service teacher training 2. Teacher professional DEVELOPMENT and supporting inspection and assessment reforms 3. Improving literacy and numeracy teaching 4.
