1 This two-element, tri-band quad operates on 10, 15,and 20 meters. The choice to two band settings:phone and CW, presents low VSWR across eachsegment with broadband swaged aluminum tubing speraders offerstrength and durability, and are free of patterndistortion effects. The spreaders are broken atstrategic Electrical points with high impact-cycolacinsulators and are completely free of "RF" and patterndi t tiff tThe Driven Element is at DC ground to eliminatestatic noise and to provide lightning pretuned gamma matches offer closed loop feature decreases static swaged tubing and vertix-feed combine toprovide mechanical stability. The cast aluminum tilt-head boom gives strength and offers a choice of preset speader arms are drilled for easyassembly. You only need to measure the elementOne transmission line feeds all three bands.
2 RG-8/auoffers minimum cable loss and full legal powercapabilities. If your cable run is less than 60 feet andpower doesn't exceed 200 watts use RG-58 the best height for your installation. Heightabove the ground determines the angle of radiation(the lower the angle, the greater the range). For best results, install the Hy-Quad at least 45 feetabove the ground and 8 to 10 feet above your toweror site should be clear of any objects of a large, conductive mass which tend to shift antennaresonance, affect the VSWR, and distort the : To prolong the life of this product in or aroundcoastal areas, it is recommended that all hardware beencapsulated with a silicone rubber compound suchas Dow-Corning silastic rubber or GE silicone seal toprevent atmospheric impedance (nominal).

Check the parts against the parts : When unpacking your antenna, check theinside of all tubing for parts (clamps, insulators, smaller tubing etc.). To conserve space, these smallerarticles are sometimes put inside the larger : All tubing supplied with the Hy-Quad isdesigned to telescope together. It is held in place withtwo #10 x 3/8" self-tapping screws. All tubing lengthsare predrilled for your convenience. For optimumoperation, all element-to-wire dimensions should befollowed by 1/8".
4 The size of this antenna requires consideration as tohow you are going to get it to the top of your tilt-head boom-to-mast bracket (see Figure 35)facilitates assembly of the antenna in halves. Thereare two installation methods:Method 1 - Completely assemble the antenna on theground and hoist it into position as shown in Figure 2 - Assemble the antenna on the ground inhalves, then hoist each half up the tower and attachto the boom-to-mast bracket on the best method is to assemble the antenna in halveson the ground. When this is done the reflector anddriven element spreaders must be in the same the boom to the boom-to-mast bracket andassemble the sperader arm to boom bracket on theboom. MAKE SURE THE DRIVEN ELEMENT ANDREFLECTOR BRACKETS ARE IN THE SAME PLANE. Nowseparate the antenna in halves and complete theassemblye.
