1 Employee Engagement Manager Position Description The Employee Engagement Manager , will work with the OHR Service Teams and the unit HR Directors to create a University-wide Engagement strategy. The Manager will also work with those responsible for supervisor training to integrate Engagement concepts into existing and future supervisor training so that strong supervisors become the primary conduit for increasing Engagement . The Manager will be responsible for the execution and overall communication as it relates to Employee Engagement initiatives. The Manager will be responsible for developing a survey process and metrics that will enable the University to track Employee Engagement progress at both an institution wide and a local unit level.

2 During the survey cycle the Manager will partner with the HR directors and the Service Teams to ensure effective administration of the survey. The Manager will serve as a subject matter expert on the survey results. After the survey cycle, the Manager will produce both global and local reports that will help the University and individual units track progress and create action that drive positive Employee Engagement . Key Responsibilities Create a comprehensive and sustainable Employee Engagement strategy Work with senior leaders and deans to develop strategies and demonstrable links between Engagement and their strategic goals Work with vendors, Office of Human Resource partners and college and administrative unit Human Resource partners to design, deploy, and evaluate effective and efficient Engagement surveys Conduct Employee focus groups to complement Engagement surveys Develop a train the trainer program to enable units to analyze their own data and build action plans Create and/or edit tools, training materials.

3 And resources to help partners and leaders successfully build action plans based on survey results Create an effective communication plan and provide content for various communication vehicles Leverage events to create and sustain dialogue around Engagement Identify and address issues and solutions related to Employee Engagement Help University leaders determine links between Engagement and outcomes such as; turnover, healthcare costs, grievances, student success Work with cross-functional teams to identify unique division/location needs while balancing the overall purpose and requirements of the Employee Engagement strategy Manage a professional training and development staff Required Education and Experience Masters Degree Minimum of 5 years in direct human resource work or in a closely related field Minimum 5 years experience in managing a staff Demonstrated ability to move forward an agenda or initiative Preferred Experience Strong experience working in partnership with leaders and colleagues to drive results.

4 Experience interacting with all levels of management/staff and across organizational lines. Experience implementing diverse and high impact HR initiatives to support organizational objectives. Excellent influencing, leadership, communication skills - particularly within matrix style organizations. Experience presenting to different audiences verbally, in writing and in presentation formats Experience working with detailed information and numerical data and presenting it in a way that is easily understood by people at different levels in the organization.
