The College of Engineering has several specific requirements for admission. Students with 15 or more hours must meet the following GPA criteria: All students must have credit for (can include AP credit): > in all college level work attempted > Calculus I General Chemistry I; "Calculus-Based" Physics I. > in all college level Calculus-based Math courses attempted To meet GPA criteria, all students must have attempted > in all Gen.

Chemistry, Biology, Geology, & "Calculus-Based" Physics courses attempted at least (no AP credit): > in all Engineering courses attempted > One college level english course; one "Calculus-Based". > in all college level english courses attempted Math; one college level Gen. Chemistry, Biology, Geology or "Calculus-Based" Physics course International students must meet TOEFL requirements of 550 written, 213 computerized or 79-80 internet base unless exempt. TOEFL exemptions: earned a high school diploma, Associates of Art, Assocaites of Science or higher from a regionally accredited high school, college or university.

# UH is partnered with the Houston Community College System, San Jacinto College District, and Lone Star College System. Students at these institutions can complete this requirement with english 2311 (TCCNS). All other transferring students must take the Engineering course ENGI 2304 at UH. * mechanical majors should take a semester long computer-based drafting course. This requirement is waived for students who completed one year of mechanical drawing or general drafting in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. ^ University Physics lecture and laboratory courses may be taken as a unit or as separate courses.

^^ Electrical, Computer & Chemical Engineering majors must take ECON 2302; this course also counts for your Social/Behavioral core requirement. Full time students should contact an advisor in Engineering after Calculus II is completed because of the need to begin specific course sequences in the major. A maximum of 66 hours (grades C- or better) of 1000/2000 level transfer hours may be applied toward a UH degree. *TEXAS UNDERGRADUATE IN-STATE TUITION ENROLLMENT CAP*. Students enrolling at a Texas public university or community college for the first time will be affected by the enrollment cap.

There is now a limit on the number of hours those students may attempt while paying in-state tuition. For details, please see the following website: Transfer Center: 713-743-1010 College of Engineering : 713-743-4200.
