1 08 April 2016 . ATTENTION: SASSETA Accredited Training Providers cc: Employer Organisations EXTENTION TO AND RENEWAL OF accreditation status second notice . To improve quality assurance processes within the Safety and Security training sector, SASSETA has extended the accreditation of SASSETA accredited training providers, whose accreditation expired on 31 March 2016 , by three (3) months to 30 June 2016 . The extension period will also assist in eliminating the gaps in accreditation thus safeguarding the interests of training providers and learners. The extension is conditional to the submission of documents as specified in items 1 and 2 (next page), and has, for the benefit of our stakeholders, been further extended to the 29th April 2016 .
2 Upon submission of the required documentation and, if a positive outcome of the evaluation is obtained, training providers will receive an extension of accreditation up to the 31st March 2018 as per the SETA life cycle and in accordance with suitable accreditation status applied for. SASSETA ETQA will perform those functions that fall within its mandate as an Education and Training Quality Assurer and which are in the interest of the Safety and Security Sector and that of the learners. accreditation REQUIREMENTS. accreditation requirements and conditions of accreditation are implemented by SASSETA to promote quality assurance of all education, training and development practices as set out in principles and criteria laid down by South Africa Qualifications Authority (SAQA), QCTO, the NQF, and Skills Development Act processes.
3 Accredited training providers are required to submit: 1. Training facilitators' CVs and qualifications All accredited training providers are required to submit: training facilitators' CV's and qualifications, relevant to the undertaken training, in order to establish SASSETA's training facilitators' database and to promote the implementation of quality training across the Safety and Security sector. 2. Learning material identified gaps The ETQA acknowledges that there are gaps in the SASSETA learning material and we are currently reviewing all learning material to ensure legislative compliance and relevance.
4 This is Page 1 of 3. applicable to all training providers who are accredited to conduct training in the following Qualification/s and or Unit Standard/s: Qualification id: 58577 - NC: General Security Practice Qualification id: 57713 - FETC: Specialist Security Practice Qualification id: 49597 - NC: Paralegal Practice Qualification id: 50265 - NC: Family Law Practice Qualification id: 50023 - ND: Legal Interpreting Disclosure We urge training providers, who are using the above stated learning material, to write a disclosure letter, stating the gaps identified in the learning material and explaining how the gaps would be addressed.
5 The disclosure letter, together with supporting documents such as additional learning material, should be submitted to the SASSETA ETQA no later than 29th April 2016 . Implementation of matters stated in the disclosure letter will be monitored through site visits and upon the verification of learner results. Other learning material, developed by providers for the purpose of accreditation , should be reviewed for relevancy and compliance. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS FOR accreditation RENEWAL . The accredited training provider's application must consist of the documents listed in 1 and 2 above (training facilitators' CV's and qualifications, the disclosure letter and supporting documents).

Accredited providers, whose accreditation expired on 31 March 2016 , are urged to comply and submit all the required accreditation documentation as per the stipulated requirements and time frames. Failure to do so by 29th April 2016 will result in the cancellation of the 30 June 2016 .
7 Extension and the lapse of your SASSETA accreditation . MONITORING AND accreditation REVIEW. The monitoring of all accredited training providers, to ensure that training providers follow a systematic process to achieve excellence in training delivery, is compulsory. Monitoring and review of accreditation will be conducted by SASSETA during the period of accreditation . Page 2 of 3. TRAINING PROVIDERS NEED TO COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING accreditation REQUIREMENTS. Accredited training providers need to ensure compliance with the requirements below as this will be checked during the monitoring visits. It is the responsibility of the accredited training provider to ensure that current legislative requirements such as SARS tax clearance and PSIRA certificates are provided.

Lease agreement / Proof of ownership Audited Financial Statement/ Letter confirming solvency Appointment letter of the Bookkeeper/ Accounting Officer Proof of banking details. 2. LEARNING PROGRAMME REVIEW. Proof of Learning Programme review, inclusive of letter of disclosure on identified gaps in SASSETA. material and how these are addressed (new requirement). Programme approval report. 3. ASSESSMENT. Assessment and Moderation policy Learner entry policy Learners support and guidance policy Learner repetition/ re assessment policy Learner Appeals policy RPL policy 4.
9 ETD PRACTICES. Compliance of HR and implementation of the policy Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) with registered assessors and moderators Implementation of administration, marketing and communication policy Training facilitators' CVs and qualifications relevant to the training undertaken (new requirement). 5. LEARNER REGISTRATION AND / OR UPLOADS. SP O1/ Learner registration form(s) to be submitted upon completion of registration SP O2/ Learner achievement form(s) to be submitted upon completion of verification of learners results by SASSETA Verifier 6. HEALTH AND SAFETY.
10 Compliance with Health and Safety regulations (etc. emergency signs & first aid kit).
