Work Integrated Learning (WIL) also known as clinical placements, will be a compulsory component of the course for all students for all four programmes and will take place at HPCSA approved hospitals or clinics. Transport to and from these clinical sites will be for the applicants own account. All Radiography applications received by the closing date of 30 September 2017 will be considered for selection for the above BSc degrees for the 2018 intake.

2 In order to be considered for the above Radiography programmes, a completed CPUT application form is required inclusive of the supporting documentation, as well as the Radiography Questionnaire. The latter forms are available on the CPUT website. It is imperative that all forms are fully completed and that all required documents are included. Application forms must be posted to the CPUT (Bellville Campus) as per the address provided on the forms. These must be received by 30 September 2017. No late, or incomplete applications with outstanding documents will be accepted. Progress reports or results for subsequent examinations must be forwarded as soon as they are received. Applicants for post-graduate studies will be notified whether their application was successful, together with details regarding registration. All other applicants will be notified as soon as possible whether or not they are on the short list of applicants.

3 Please note that any selection will be provisional on all subsequent and final results being submitted and evaluated against admission criteria. These results should be submitted within 3 days of receipt. There are many applicants for Radiography and of the several hundred who apply approximately 80 - 100 students will be selected. The majority of those accepted are for Diagnostic Radiography. Approximately 8 - 12 students will be accepted for Radiation Therapy, 8 - 12 for Diagnostic Ultrasound and 4 8 students for Nuclear Medicine. These figures represent the total number of Radiography applicants accepted at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. B Tech degrees: Applicants who have already completed the first year of the B Tech Radiography programme, may currently still apply to complete the second year in the same discipline, after which these programmes will be phased out.

4 The last intake for second year of the BTech degree will thus be in 2018. Thereafter those radiographers with a National Diploma or incomplete B Tech degree, will be considered for admission into the new BSc Radiography programmes should they wish to undertake further studies.
