1 FARM TOUR TO CANADA Including The Calgary Stampede 27TH JUNE - 9TH JULY 2018 Optional Extension 8th - 18th July 2018 - Calgary to Montreal The tour starts on Vancouver Island and Victoria, before transferring by ferry to the mainland and on to Fraser Valley, travelling east through the Rocky Mountains to Calgary in time for the annual Stampede. With farm visits including, dairy, beef, sheep, crops, cheese, goats, orchards and wine, the majesty of The Rocky Mountains, the spectacular Stam-pede and Vancouver Island, the tour encompasses the best of CANADA . The tour is being offered in conjunction with our international partners from New Zealand so you will enjoy the company of Kiwi farmers also participating in this unique tour.

2 There is also the opportunity to extend your tour to include Eastern CANADA . Flying from Calgary to Toronto after the Stampede you will visit Niagara Falls, Ottowa, Quebec and Montreal before flying back to the UK. Alternatively, you can join the tour for the Calgary Stampede and continue your tour, travelling east to Toronto, Quebec and Montreal. Calgary Stampede CANADA Country Information The Country CANADA is the second largest contry in the world after Russia, covering an area of 9,984,670 sq km. it is bor-dered to the west by the Pacific Ocean and Alaska, to the east by the Atlantic Ocean and to the south by the Lower 48 states of the USA.

3 The landscape is diverse, ranging from the Arctic tun-dra of the north to the great prairies of the central area. Westward are the Rocky Mountains and in the south-east are the Great Lakes, the St Lawrence River and Niagara falls. The Agriculture CANADA is the fifth largest agricultural exported in the world with only around 7% of CANADA s land area which suitable for farming, the majority of this is located in Western CANADA . The largest acreage farms can be found in the West where there are many crop farms producing oilseeds, wheat, barley and a lot of beef production. They also produce around 85% of the world maple syr-up and are the largest grower of canola, pulses and flax seeds.

4 The Weather CANADA s climate varies based on geography from perma-frost in the north to four distinct seasons towards the equa-tor. In this region, the temperature can climb up to 35 C in the summer and descend to 25 C during winter. The cli-mate is characterised by its diversity, as temperature and precipitation differ depending on where you are and what time of the year. Most Canadian cities are within 300km of the southern border where mild springs, hot summers and crisp autumns are common during the majority of the year. The People Canadian society is a multicultural one.

5 Approximately two fifths of the population has an origin other than British, French or First Nations. Since they are the dominant lan-guage groups, the official languages are French and English. Take a private transfer to the hotel where you will join the rest of the group and meet with your guide.

6 2 night stay in Victoria. Day 2 Thursday 28th June (B-D) Tour of Victoria and visit the beautiful Butchart Gardens, a 130 acre floral extravaganza carved out of an old limestone quarry. Visit a local farm be-fore returning to Victoria for a welcome dinner. Day 3 Friday 29th June (B-D) Check out and transfer to Vancouver by ferry. Enjoy a tour of the wonderful city including Stanley Park, Granville Island and the water front area. De-part to Westminster to check in for dinner and overnight. Day 4 Saturday 30th June (BL-) Breakfast and check out. Today you will explore the Fraser River region.

7 Enjoy the journey through this majestic valley with its lush fruit orchards and spectacular scenery. Visit a dairy operation and a horticultural enterprise such as lavender, fruit or a wine producer. Check in to the hotel for a 1 night stay. Day 5 Sunday 1st July (B-D) Check out and travel to The Rocky Mountains. It is CANADA Day so enjoy Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks on one of the most scenic highways in the world. Enjoy a short walk in the mountains before arriving at your hotel for a 1 night stay including dinner in Saskatchewan Crossing. Day 6 Monday 2nd July (BL-) Depart to Jasper National Park enjoying miles of captivating scenery with the possibility of seeing bears, moose, deer and other wildlife common in the area, as you pass through alpine meadows, waterfall and glacier masses.

8 Take a ride on the glacier in a snow-coach at Athabasca Glacier before departing to stunning Lake Louise. En-joy free time at the lake before checking into your Banff hotel for a 2 night stay. Day 7 Tuesday 3rd July (B-D) Tour the Banff surrounding area including Bow Falls, Tunnel Mountain and the Hoodoos. Take a Gondola ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy spectacular views of The Rocky Mountains. Return to Banff for free time to explore. In the evening enjoy dinner at a western cookout. Day 8 Wednesday 4th July (BL-) Check out and travel on to Alberta, one of the largest agricultural areas in CANADA .

9 Visit a purebred cattle ranch and the modern Hutterite colony co-operative farm. Lunch on the farm. Check in to Alberta hotel for a 2 night stay. Evening at leisure. Day 9 Thursday 5th July (BL-) Spend the day visiting local farms, including a sheep breeding operation, a seed farm, a bison/buffalo cropping operation, a 20,000 head beef feedlot growing canola and wheat crops. Evening in Alberta at leisure. Day 10 Friday 6th July (B--) Travel to Calgary to visit the greatest outdoor show on earth, the Calgary Stampede, including the Rodeo with bucking broncos, bull riding and steer roping.

10 Reserved seats included. Check in for a 2 night stay. Day 11 Saturday 7th July (B--) Day at leisure to re-visit the Stampede, explore downtown or go further afield using your C Train travel pass. In the evening you have reserved seating for the evening performance at the Stampede, the highlight of which is the Chuck Wagon Race and the Grandstand Show. Return to your hotel for overnight. Day 12 Sunday 8th July (B, Meals in flight) Depart to Calgary airport for your overnight flight to the UK. Day 13 Monday 9th July UK Arrive London. OPTION TO EXTEND TOUR TO INCLUDE TORONTO, NIAGARA FALLS, OTTAWA AND QUEBEC Day 12 Sunday 8th July (B-D) Transfer to Calgary airport for your internal flight to Toronto.
