3 The ease ofoperation, the repeatabilit y o f results makes EL CID an interesting investigation tool for magneticcore condition monitoring. Florida Light an d Power: We have had great success with our Adwel EL CID. It detected a deepse ated fault, below the win di ng, which would have led to a failure of the stator core. This fault wasnot immediately detected by a high power loop test. CIGR Report 2 57, 2004: The re seems to be general consensus that if an EL CID test is per-formed and no damage is fo und, then the core is defect free.
