2 Eighteen (18) congenital birth defects that could affect a child s lifespan or quality of life. Enhanced protectionLiberty has improved the Female Living Lifestyle benefit to ensure that it keeps up with women s changing needs: The benefit definitions and payouts have been revised in accordance with the latest medical terminology, making them more relevant to current conditions. We now cover 7 additional pregnancy complications and 6 additional congenital birth defects. We also added a lump sum payout to assist with funeral expenses should a woman lose her baby due to an unexplained cot death. Liberty will now consider a claim if the policyholder survives for 14 days or more (reduced from 30 days or more) from the claim event, enabling us to meet our client s financial needs sooner. In addition, the waiting period has been reduced from 12 month to 9 following pregnancy-related complications are now covered: Miscarriage due to Chorionic Villus Sampling, a technique used to determine if the baby has any birth defects.

3 Miscarriage after at least 28 weeks of pregnancy for any reason where the trauma or injury was not self-inflicted. This includes miscarriages due to an unintended trauma such as a motor vehicle accident or criminal attack. Hyperemesis Gravidarum that could lead to losing the baby due to excessive vomiting during pregnancy. Placenta Accreta (an abnormally deep attachment of placenta) that can only be removed by a hysterectomy. Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation during pregnancy where small blood clots form in the blood vessels causing severe complications.
