1 First United Methodist Church jackson , Michigan Job Description position title : kitchen assistant _____ Approved by: Staff-Parish Committee, last reviewed 6/4/07 Page 1 of 2 Job Classification Part-time (estimated weekly hours 20) Principal focus Minister to Church family and community by assisting with the planning, preparing, and serving of healthy and tasty meals and snacks. Regular duties Maintain and clean kitchen and little kitchen Prepare all coffee set ups Do kitchen laundry Prepare and serve meals, as needed Assist Director of kitchen Services Occasional duties Assign tasks to kitchen volunteers Other kitchen duties as they may arise Working Relationships Internal: Reports to: Director of kitchen Services May have regular contact with the following co-workers & peers.

2 --Office staff scheduling use of kitchen --Custodians scheduling and room set-up May have regular contact with the following Church committees: --Work with volunteers in the completion of various kitchen duties --Any Church Committee assist with meeting meals and snacks May have regular contact with the following within family Church : --Sunday School & Bible School teachers ready snacks for classes --Most fellowship groups, members & visitors assist with meeting meal and snack needs of various groups External: May have regular contact with the following outside the Church family (vendors, professional peers, community agencies, etc.)
