PRODUCT CODE 999-H0014 FLATTING base USE This product is designed for use in the Dulux Luxathane R and Acrathane IF range of products. Refer to the attached gloss reduction chart for the recommended addition level of the FLATTING base for the recommended Coatings . INSTRUCTIONS 1. Ensure all cans, including the FLATTING base and Part A and B components of the product selected are stirred thoroughly until all the contents are uniform. Use of a power mixer is recommended. 2. Prior to addition of the FLATTING base , the Part A and B components of the product selected must be correctly mixed following the mix ratio stated on the data sheet.

4 3. Once the paint has been correctly mixed, add the required amount of the FLATTING base (refer to gloss reduction chart) to the mixed paint using a power mixer and brisk stirring. Continue stirring until the FLATTING base is uniformly distributed through the paint (typically 5 minutes after addition is complete). 4. Once the FLATTING base has been incorporated check the viscosity of the product and if required add thinner to the mixed product. Please refer to the data sheet for the thinner and addition levels recommended for the product selected. 5. Apply as per recommendations on the Topcoat product data sheet.

5 Wet film thickness may need to be adjusted to achieve the specified DFT for the Topcoat product. ADDITION GUIDE Final gloss levels will depend on environmental and application conditions. Refer to the precautions section for additional detail. The following table and gloss reduction chart are indicative guides only. SURFACE PREPARATION It is recommended that specifiers follow the guidelines for surface preparation from the data sheet of the coating selected.

6 PRECAUTIONS This is an industrial product designed for use by experienced Protective Coating applicators. Where conditions may require variation from the recommendations on this Product Data Sheet contact your nearest Dulux representative for advice prior to painting. Do not apply in conditions outside the parameters stated in this document without the express written consent of Dulux Australia. Appearance and performance of the finished coating may vary and is dependent on application technique, environmental conditions, topcoat type and colour, thinning level, film thickness and the amount of FLATTING base used.

7 It is the applicators responsibility to conduct a test patch to verify the amount of additive required to achieve the desired gloss level at the particular application conditions. For further advice on the use and application of the FLATTING base contact your Dulux Protective Coatings representative. CLEAN UP Refer to the Product Data Sheet of the recommended coating being used with the FLATTING base . SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Read Data Sheet, Safety Data Sheet and any precautionary labels on containers. STORAGE Store as required for a flammable liquid Class 3 in a bunded area under cover. Store in well-ventilated area away from sources of heat or ignition.

8 Keep containers closed at all times. HANDLING As with any chemical, ingestion, inhalation and prolonged or repeated skin contact should be avoided by good occupational work practice. Eye protection approved to AS1337 should be worn where there is a risk of splashes entering the eyes. Always wash hands before smoking, eating, drinking or using the toilet. USING Use with good ventilation and avoid inhalation of spray mists and fumes. If risk of inhalation of spray mists exists, wear combined organic vapour/particulate respirator. When spray painting, users should comply with the provisions of the respective State Spray Painting Regulations.

9 FLAMMABILITY This product is flammable. All sources of ignition must be eliminated in, or near the working area. DO NOT SMOKE. Fight fire with foam, CO2 or dry chemical powder. On burning will emit toxic fumes. WELDING Avoid inhalation of fumes if welding surfaces coated with this paint. Grind off coating before welding.
