To lead the development and strategic management of the FOODBEV Research and Skills Planning agenda through credible stakeholder processes.

2 This is done to ensure that a high quality strategic research and development framework is developed and used to direct Skills Development interventions in optimal support of FOODBEV stakeholders within the wider national frameworks for training needs of the chemical Sector and the socio-economic benefit of the country. This is also done to ensure a compliance and performance driven focus. Roles and Responsibilities: Management of Strategic Research Framework Manage the Strategic Research Framework and internal and external researchers Develop a research framework and a research agenda Management of Research Agenda Manage internal and external researchers Implement agreed research projects (including occupational profiling, employer survey, skills survey etc)

3 As per DGs FOODBEV Sector Skills Plan 2011 2016 and Departmental Matters Lead and drive the development of a strategic and high quality FOODBEV Sector Skills Plan 2011-2016 with FOODBEV stakeholders in support of the food and Beverages Sector and NSDS III Compile the Sector Skills Plan and related areas of development as per Page 2 of 5 DHET and Governing Board mandates and deliverables Submit scarce skills list and pivotal list to DHET by deadline and provide analysis in SSP Analyse WSP and ATR data for inclusion in SSP Manage occupational profiling Hold stakeholder workshops Facilitate employer survey Manage skills survey (audit) by reviewing forms, making inputs and facilitating Project Steering meetings Establish employer and supplier database Manage contracts between FOODBEV and employers Hold meeting with TVETs and HETs to get their input and support Manage sub-deliverables as required from DHET or any other official body Administer budget support and facilitate stakeholder engagement through Chamber and research and Skills Planning meetings Update and submit quality SSP by deadline Manage the learning programs discretionary grants and mandatory grants evaluation committee and make recommendation for the approval of learning programs discretionary grants and mandatory grants as per Delegation of Authority Manage special projects and manage non-paying levy entities.

5 Your skills partner Manage OFO submissions to DHET Delivery of Business Unit Plan Ensure delivery of Business Unit Plan and targets in accordance with overarching FOODBEV Strategic Plan 2011-2016 Ensure delivery of Annual Performance plan that is aligned to the Strategic plan of FOODBEV Building Partnerships Establish collaborative relationships and where applicable, partnerships with relevant public and private institutions in relation to skills research in the chemical Sector Government relationships: Foster close working relationship and formal partnerships with relevant government departments in relation to skills development Engagement with other SETAs: Build relations with other SETAs Risk Management Identify, assess, prioritise and monitor all risks within area of responsibility and identify.
