Though it seems like just yesterday that they entered Eagledom, the time has come for the Class of 2007 to move on to even greater heights. This class has been fl ying since they fi rst walked down the CFHS corridors in September of 2003. The achievements, accomplishments, and honors that have been earned by these young men and woman are extraordinary. Colonial Forge dares each student to soar; to rise to the occasion; to strive to better oneself; to consider others before themselves. Consider it done. Accolades like superior fi t our band, orchestra and chorus to a tee. Champion well identifi es the athletes who have participated on seven Eagle teams. The position of fi rst is occupied by so many of our academic and extra-curricular clubs, organizations and associations.

2 Every year we are prone to say, it will be hard for future classes to match the accomplishments of this class. Yet, years of dedication, hard work and strong support cause us to make that statement each and every year. 3 You are Soaring Seniors Are Ready to Leave the CFHS NestValedictorian Truong Vu s remarkable journey led him to receive Colonial Forge s highest honor from Dr. Lisa Martin. INSERT: Kathleen KC Wade s Salutatorian Award achievement was matched by her athletic prowess, earning her the Senior Academic Athlete s MessageDear Parents, Students, and Friends: The school year is quickly coming to a close. It is hard to believe that time has gone by so quickly. And what a wonderful year we have had. I want to commend our students on the fi ne job they have done this year and I know that we can count on you to help us to continue to establish a tradition of excellence at Colonial Forge High School in the years to come. I want to off er my congratulations to all of our students who continue to represent our school, whether it be in athletics, academics and through the visual and performing arts, in such an exemplary manner.

4 Special accolades go to those students receiving superior awards in our Band, Orchestra and Choral programs, our athletic programs that represented us so well throughout the year, and to our senior students who participated in the annual Senior Art Show. The school has commissioned a piece of art for permanent display in our newly established senior Gallery. I want to extend my congratulations to the students and to each of you who have give so much to our wonderful school. You have truly risen to each of your challenges, and you are the reasons that our school is such a great The PTSO will be holding elections for the 2006 - 2007 offi cers at our June 2006 meeting. The following offi ces will be considered: President, Vice President for Membership, Vice-President for Programs, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. We are still looking for additional members to head up our Ways and Means Committee.

5 Additionally, the PTSO is actively seeking membership for the 2006-2007 school year. If you would like to join our PTSO please stop by the main offi ce and pick up an application Dinner and Academic Awards Our annual senior dinner will be held on Friday, June 8th, 2007 at the Riverside Dinner Theatre. The senior dinner and slide show that follows is guaranteed to be a fabulous aff air. I want to thank everyone who assisted in making this event such a spectacular one. June 11th is our annual senior picnic at Curtis Park, beginning at 12:30 This is an early release day for seniors. Our annual Senior Academic Awards program was held on May 30th, 2007 at 7:00 in our auditorium. It is extremely rewarding to watch so many of our wonderful young people receive such a variety of awards and scholarships. Our annual underclassman awards program was held on May 31st, 2007 at 7:00 Additionally, on June 7th at 7:00 Brooke Point High School hosted the county-wide Summa Cum Laude Ceremony, honoring those seniors who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of or higher.

6 Graduation Ceremony Our Colonial Forge Graduation Ceremony was held on June 14th, 2007 at 7:00 The graduation ceremony, keeping with our tradition, was held in our school s gymnasium with the auditorium being utilized as an overfl ow area. This is a very formal ceremony, one in which we are able to recognize and to celebrate our students accomplishments. We have also included in this newsletter a new feature, honoring our seniors. Please take a moment and review our senior Walkway - Leave Your Mark in History Colonial Forge High School would like to construct a Memory Walkway in honor of our graduating seniors. Seniors, and/or their parents will have the opportunity to purchase a brick that will then become a part of our historical walkway. The walkway will extend from the Senior Courtyard trailing to the athletic fi elds.

7 The expansion of the walkway will become a yearly tradition for our graduating seniors. The bricks will have up to three lines with 16 characters per line. If PAGE 2 Lisa L. Martin, would like to become a part of the history of Colonial Forge High School, we encourage you to leave your mark. Bricks may be purchased for the cost of $ each. If you are interested in leaving your mark, please look for the enclosed order form. In closing, just a reminder that the School Board has designated June 15th, 2007 as the fi nal offi cial school day for the 2006 2007 school year. The year truly has fl own by. We have begun the planning process for next. Please mark your calendars for August 21st, as that is our Freshman Orientation day at CFHS. 9 Our co-curricular programs continue to excel. Once again we are a Blue Ribbon Performing Arts School, with the band, chorus, and orchestra all receiving superior ratings. CFHS has won the Commonwealth District Championships in Girls Soccer and Baseball. That brings our total number of district championships for the year to seven, which ties the school record. We started off the year by winning Girls Cross Country, Volleyball, and Football. In the winter we won Wrestling and Scholastic Bowl and we fi nished with Girls Soccer and Baseball. The Volleyball team made its fi rst trip to the VHSL State Final Four. The Wrestling team captured its 6th Northwest Regional title and won our fi rst ever team VHSL State Championship. Several track athletes were recently in action hoping to bring more honors to CFHS at the time of this writing.

10 Summer is upon us and fall practices will begin before you know it. Remember, in order to be eligible for VHSL sponsored activities you must have passed at least fi ve classes and have a current VHSL physical on fi le. The physical must be dated May 1, 2007 or later to be valid for the 2007-08 school year. Our typical regular season admission fee is $ for school age children to through age 62. If you have a large family or plan to attend a lot of games, the passes are a great way to save money and support the school at the same Family pass - $ (for all dependant immediate family members).s Student pass - $ (for the individual student).
