2 The addressability of the FSP-851 detector enables thecontrol unit to provide firefighters with a pinpoint descrip-tion of where the fire is located. The control unit is capa-ble of not only knowing the detector s location but alsoexactly how much smoke is in the chamber of the detec-tor. The detector may be set for different sensitivity set-tings appropriate to the environment of its devices continually send obscuration values tothe Pyro-Chem control unit. These values may be gath-ered so as to allow the control unit to determine if adetector has accumulated an excessive amount of dirt ordust.
