2 Law School Faculty A lawyer who is employed solely and full-time by a law school. Legal Services Member A lawyer who is employed solely and full-time by a legal services agency. Life-Time Member A lawyer who has reached the age of 75 after 25 years as a Boston Bar Association member in good standing. Lifetime members receive all of the rights and privileges of their previous Membership category. You must notify the BBA of your eligibility. Eligibility is not retroactive or automatic. Retired Any member admitted to any state or territory bar who is 65 Years or older and retired from the practice of law Premier Member Premier Membership is a full-access pass to the very best that the BBA has to offer. In addition to all of the benefits of other types of Regular memberships, you will also receive public recognition for your support of the Boston Bar Association , unlimited FREE CLEs, an exclusive invitation to a reception hosted by the BBA president and more!

3 Non-Lawyer or Non-practicing Member types: Membership category for those that do not have an active practice, but have an interest in the law and the activities of the bar Association . These member types do not have the right to vote or hold office. JD Professional Member Someone who is licensed to practice law but is not engaged in the practices of law. Law Student Member A student currently enrolled in a law school pursuing a degree in law. A member is only qualified for this category for four years. Business Professional Member A non-lawyer who is not employed by a law firm or law department. Law Firm Para-Professionals A non-lawyer who is employed by a law firm or law department. Associate Membership : For lawyers who reside or practice outside Route 495. Associate members do not have the right to vote or hold office. Western MA & Cape Cod members Any lawyer member who reside or practice outside Route 495 or on the Cape. Out of State members Any lawyer member who reside or practice outside of Massachusetts.

4 In-House (Western MA and Cape). A lawyer working in the legal department of a corporation, associations or other private-sector organization who works outside 495, on the Cape or out of state.
