2 We rejoice that the Lord has come. Merry Christmas! God invites us to make room in our hearts for the Lord Jesus who wants to be reborn within us. We welcome the Lord by opening our hearts to Him through prayer, reflection on the scriptures, and acts of love and mer-cy. It is easy to lose touch with God and with those things which are most important in our lives. O en we are so busy that it is hard to put first things first. In a world of many choices, we need direction, purpose and meaning. It is Christ, the Lord who shows us God s way for our lives. He asks us to open our hearts to what is most important: the love of God, family and friends, and the care of the needy of the world. In the joy of Christ s birth, we come together as family and parish. It is in sharing our lives and our gi s that we experience the love of God in our midst. Let our prayer for each other be that the celebration of Christmas will fill us with new hope and joy, bringing a great peace of mind and heart.

3 God bless us and may Christ bring us life! With the New Year around the corner, we have a won-derful opportunity to embody our renewed sense of hope in planning for a holy and transforming 2018. Have you thought about how you will make 2018 a holy year?
