4 FOIA 2005-1002-F contains materials from the National Security Council pertaining to all of the NSC/DC meetings held during the George H. W. Bush Administration with dates ranging from February 08, 1989 to January 14, 1993. These meetings were held in a classified environment, and these records relate to foreign policy issues that faced the administration. The NSC/DC Meetings Files contain correspondence, memoranda, talking points, and agendas for NSC Deputies Committee Meetings, and were maintained by the National Security Council Office.

5 The subject matters discussed during the NSC/DC meetings pertain to foreign policy issues during the administration. Examples of subjects included are policies pertaining to Western and Eastern Europe, the Persian Gulf, South America, Nuclear Matters, Arms Control, and Somalia. The NSC/DC Meetings Follow-up Files contain correspondence, memoranda, talking points, and agendas for NSC Deputies Committee Meetings, and were maintained by the National Security Council Office. Most of these meetings were cancelled or moved to different dates.

6 The subjects included are policies pertaining to Western and Eastern Europe, the Persian Gulf, Nuclear Matters, Arms Control, and Somalia. The Small Group Meetings Follow-up Files contain correspondence, memoranda, talking points, and agendas for Small Group Meetings, and were maintained by the National Security Council Office. 7 As policy, the NSC Meeting Files are processed at the folder level, that is, individual documents are not selected and removed from a folder for processing. While this method maintains folder integrity, it frequently results in the incidental processing of documents that are not wholly responsive to the subject area.
