3 Processed By Staff Archivists, June 2013. Previously restricted materials are added as they are released. System of Arrangement Records that are responsive to this FOIA request were found in the Quayle Vice Presidential Records: Staff and Office Files. As policy, Staff and Office Files are processed at the folder level, that is, individual documents are not selected and removed from a folder for processing. While this method maintains folder integrity, it frequently results in the incidental processing of documents that are not wholly 2013-0362-S [8] 2 responsive to the subject area.

4 Scope and Content The materials in FOIA 2013-0362-S [8] are the documents maintained by the National Security Affairs Office as the working Files of Carnes Lord and Karl Jackson. These records consist of correspondence, forms, lists, press releases, printed material, remarks, and schedules. The internal Office of the Vice President (OVP) correspondence contains schedule proposals, appointments requests, and information for meetings. Forms consist of Vice Presidential Gift Tracking forms for gift to VP Quayle, Mrs.

5 Quayle, and Karl Jackson. The enclosed lists are telephone logs for Karl Jackson. Press releases contain biographies of VP Quayle, Mrs. Quayle, Carnes Lord, Karl Jackson, and other OVP personnel; summaries of VP Quayle s activities; and a fact sheet on the President s Council on Competitiveness headed by the VP. Printed material includes interviews with Karl Jackson, newspaper clippings about VP Quayle, and an op-ed on antitrust expansionism.
