NEW BUSINESSC ommittee chair Curt Miller opened the floor for discussion. Jewell said the first proposal from the Class A Committeefixed the problems in Class A, but made more problems in 2A and 3A since many private schools would be multiplied upinto those two then said, If we are going to apply the multiplier to the private schools in Class A, then we should apply it tothe public schools as well. Let s be fair. If it affects 2A and 3A, then we should look at a competitive balance plan. Miller counted by saying, From the get-go, we were not going to use the multiplier in Class A, but now we are going togo back after we are almost finished? Plan A was voted down by this committee. What was Plan B? Dr. Hines then called upon Associate Director Don Corr, who explained the Plan B proposal to come from the Class ACommittee s meeting on Nov.

1 NEW BUSINESSC ommittee chair Curt Miller opened the floor for discussion.

2 30. That plan called for public and private schools in Class A to be put into common regionsfor regular-season play, but then split out into separate brackets for the then said, We (the private schools) have been consistent all along that the multiplier should be used acrossthe board and let the chips fall where they fall. Russell agreed, adding, We can just let the bottom schools in 2A opt to play down so we don t have too many schoolsin 2A after some are multiplied up, and then split Class A into two divisions. Much discussion ensued. Miller said he favored the Plan B that the Class A committee proposed, but he got ended the discussion by saying, In my opinion, using the multiplier on everybody is what s fair. Do what s right. Hanson agreed, again saying that the private schools much preferred using the multiplier across the discussion ensued and it was agreed upon that it would be better to have the GHSA office re-do classes A, 2 Aand 3A from scratch if the committee voted to use the multiplier on all Class A then made amotion, as follows:The multiplier would be applied to all schools (public and private) in Class A and the resulting reclassification count for that SCHOOL would be used to determine what class the SCHOOL will be placed in.

3 The class divisions for 3A, 2A and Awould be recalculated in order to balance the classes as much as possible. The teams winding up in Class A would besplit into large and small SCHOOL divisions, with each playing for separate state championships. Schools in those threeclasses only (A, 2A & 3A) would then be given the opportunity to appeal their seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken and the motionpassed 15-1 with Drew voting no. Hines then thanked the committee members for their hard work and adjourned the electronic resulting classifications using this new plan are attached to these HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATIONMINUTESRECLASSIFICATION COMMITTEED ecember 1, 2021 The Reclassification Committee of the GEORGIA High SCHOOL ASSOCIATION was called to order at 10:00 , on December 1, 2021,via electronic means by Executive Director Dr.
