It has been an excellent year and what a way to end it with our production of Alice in Wonderland. I know that all of those parents who came to see it will agree that it really was a marvellous performance.

We re back to School on Monday 5th September. Class R What a wonderful year we have had! We have had many adventures, in the jungle, underwater, on the moon and in our boats. Class R have enjoyed setting up their Bed and Breakfast this half term, we have been taking bookings and room service orders. We also set up a car wash and made posters to advertise our business. We have spent a lot of time story telling.
6 We have retold traditional tales and then made our own versions up. This has led to some wonderful role play and creative writing! Class 1 We have had a really busy half term continuing the study of 'The Sea'. During 'Pirate Week' we dressed as Pirates and learnt some pirate sayings. We designed a pirate's treasure island and wrote instructions to the treasure . We made pirate hats and 'walked the plank'. We visited the Blue Reef Aquarium and learnt lots about things that live in the sea. We also opened our own cafe called 'The Seashell Beach Cafe,' which proved to be a great success. Thank you to all the parents who came to eat hotdogs, pizza and fruit kebabs all made by the children. The children worked really hard to run the cafe themselves, taking orders, serving food and drinks, and working out how much things cost and giving change.
7 Here are some of the things the children remembered:- 'We saw Mr Tickle the giant octopus. It was really cool when it crawled out of its tank!' Finley. 'We went to the beach and made sand sculptures'. Kimi. 'We wrote and did the actions to the story 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Tea.' Jack. 'We made fish shape poems and did an under the sea collage.' Maya. 'We made our 'Memories of Class 1' books.' Daniel. I hope you all have a lovely summer. See you in September! Class 2 In Class 2 we have done lots of work about islands and the sea. We ve found out a lot about different sea creatures and plants. We went to the Blue Reef Aquarium and had a great time. We had a guided tour and then we had a seashore safari.
8 We found lots of different sea creatures like crabs and fish and shrimps. Then we had a picnic on the beach and had a sand sculpture competition. The mermaid won! It was very sunny and hot. Class 3 Class 3 have had a very busy month. On the 27th June we went on a trip to Pendennis castle. When we arrived at the castle we first of all took part in a workshop which was all about being a soldier in World War II. We had to work out names of places around Falmouth in Morse Code. Then it was time for drill practice with the Royal Artillery which was great fun! We had to line up smartly in our groups and practise standing at ease and then to attention. After that we had to march in single file across the castle grounds which was quite tricky!
9 Then we went to the Magazine where we listened to a re-enactment of a bombing raid - some of us found it quite scary but it made us realise what it would of been like during the war. Next we all had a go at firing up a pretend cannon and timing how long it took to load and fire it - the quickest group took only 33 seconds! Then it was time for lunch. After that we had time to do some sketching, explore the castle and dress up in different clothes from World War II. Finally we had to leave Pendennis and return to School . It was a brilliant trip, we had learnt so much about the life of a soldier and about castles. We have also been looking at myths and have created our own myhthical creatures which we then put into our own myths that we have written.
10 This term we have been lucky to have Miss Prescott teaching us. She has been a great teacher and we thank her very much for organising our trip to Pendennis Castle and helping us to make our learning interesting and fun! We had to find as much litter as possible and put it into different colours. Afterwards we put all the litter colours on a board to create a person by throwing a piece of litter in the bin and we came 3rd out of 24 other schools.
