2 If documents are faxed to the GPW it will be the sender s respon-sibility to phone and confirm that the documents were received in good the Government Printing Works will also not be held responsible for cancellations andamendments which have not been done on original documents received from INHOUDBOARD NOTICE118 Planning Profession Act (36/2002): Withdrawal of Board Notice 127 of 2011: Determination of professional fees in terms of the South AfricanCouncil for PlannersSACPLANSACPLAN NO 2 OF 2014 SOUTH AFRICAN COUNCIL FOR PLANNERSPLANNING PROFESSION ACT, 2002 (ACT 36 OF 2002)WITHDRAWAL OF THE BOARD NOTICE 127 OF OF PROFESSIONAL FEES IN TERMS OF SECTION 29 OF THEPLANNING PROFESSION ACT, is hereby notified, for general information, that the South African Council for Planners hasdetermined professional fees in terms of Section 29 of the Planning Profession Act, fees replace the fees advertised in Board Notice 127 of 2011.

3 The provisionscontained in the Schedule, which exclude value-added tax to the fee so calculated, comeinto effect on the date of proclamation of this notice and shall apply in respect of any stage ofprofessional service, which is started with, on, or after the date of commencement of OF FEESThe guideline hourly tariff charge for each of the defined categories shall be:Category of StaffIndicative Rate per HourAR1 , 10 OKTOBER 2014No. 380783 This Gazette is also available free online at NOTICE 118 OF 2014 For purposes of reference the definitions of categories A to D, are quoted below:(a)Category A in respect of a private consulting practice in Planning shall mean a toppractitioner whose expertise and relevant experience is nationally or internationallyrecognised and who provides advice at a level of specialisation where such advice isrecognised as that of an expert or managing director or member of a company orclose corporation who, jointly and severally with other partners, co-directors or co-members, bears the risks of the business, takes full responsibility for the liabilities ofsuch practice, where level of expertise and relevant experience is commensuratewith the position, performs work of a conceptual nature in Planning and development.

4 Provides strategic guidance in planning and executing a project and / or carriesresponsibility for quality management pertaining to a project. He or She shall havebeen registered by the SACPLAN as a Professional Planner in terms of the PlanningProfession Act, 2002.(b)Category B in respect of a private consulting practice in Planning, shall mean allsalaried professional staff with adequate expertise and relevant experience ofperforming work of a planning nature and who carry the direct technical responsibilityfor one or more specific activities related to a project. A person referred here shall bewhat is referred to in the Planning Profession Act, 2002 as a Professional Plannerand shall have been registered by the SACPLAN as such.

5 (c)Category C in respect of a private consulting practice in Planning, shall mean allsalaried technical staff with adequate expertise and relevant experience ofperforming work of a planning nature with direct and control provided by any personcontemplated in Categories A and B above. He or She shall have been registered bythe SACPLAN as a Technical Planner in terms of the Planning Profession Act, 2002.(d)Category D in respect of a private consulting practice in Planning, shall mean allother salaried professional or technical staff members who have not yet completedthe 24 months post qualification experience requirement for registration with theSACPLAN in terms of the Planning Profession Act, 2002. He or She will beperforming work of a Planning nature under the direct supervision provided by anyperson contemplated in categories A and B above.
