2 GRATTON SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION Scholarships are available annually to both current and prospective pupils of exceptional academic, sport, music, art and other extra mural abilities. Scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the Headmaster and the SCHOOL board, following SCHOLARSHIP examinations. In order to qualify for a SCHOLARSHIP , candidates must first pass examinations in English and Mathematics. Academic, Sport and Extra Mural Scholarships One learner from each phase will be awarded the SCHOLARSHIP which will cover tuition. The successful applicant will receive a 50%, 70% or 100% SCHOLARSHIP dependant on the examination results.

Scholarships are awarded for the student s full career at GRATTON on the understanding that the agreement will be reviewed annually on the below regulations; 2. The successful applicant will make every effort to maintain the high standard of which they are considered capable. 3. Will uphold the schools code of conduct. 4. Will not behave in such a manner as to bring the SCHOOL into any disrepute. SCHOLARSHIP Policy and Criteria Category Nature of achievement Scope of SCHOLARSHIP A Exceptional Academic achievement (90%+ average) at an acceptable academic standard AND based performance in the SCHOLARSHIP examinations.

4 100% SCHOLARSHIP on SCHOOL /tuition fees. This does not include other extras like fees for boarding, equipment or textbooks, levy, insurance and external examination fees. B Very Good Academic achievement (85%+ average) at an acceptable academic standard AND based performance in the SCHOLARSHIP examinations. 70% SCHOLARSHIP on SCHOOL /tuition fees. This does not include other extras like fees for boarding, equipment or textbooks, levy, insurance and external examination fees. C Very Good Academic achievement (80%+ average) at an acceptable academic standard AND based performance in the SCHOLARSHIP examinations. 50% SCHOLARSHIP on SCHOOL /tuition fees. This does not include other extras like fees for boarding, equipment or textbooks, levy, insurance and external examination fees.

5 D Good academic achievement (60% average) at an acceptable standard, consideration of all round performance, including sport, extra murals music AND based performance in in the SCHOLARSHIP examinations. The SCHOLARSHIP percentage determined by the Headmaster and SCHOOL board will account for partial SCHOOL /tuition fees. The SCHOLARSHIP Procedure Please be advised that if all the above documentation does not accompany the APPLICATION form, the APPLICATION will not be considered. If the applicant is invited to the SCHOLARSHIP examination, we request they wear their SCHOOL uniform and bring the necessary writing material.
