8 Acetochlor demonstrates the properties and characteristics associated with chemicals detected in ground water. The use of this chemical in areas where soils are permeable, particularly where the ground water is shallow, may result in ground water contamination. Flumetsulam and clopyralid are known to leach through soil into ground water under certain conditions as a result of agricultural use. Use of this product where soils are permeable, particularly where the water table is shallow may result in leaching to ground water. Caution should be exercised when handling this product at mixing and loading sites to prevent contamination of groundwater supplies. Use of closed systems for mixing or transferring this pesticide will reduce the probability of spills. Placement of the mixing/loading equipment on an impervious pad to contain spills will help prevent groundwater contamination. Acetochlor has properties that may result in surface water contamination via dissolved runoff and runoff erosion.

9 Practices should be followed to minimize the potential for dissolved runoff and/or runoff erosion. DIRECTIONS FOR USE.
