8 DescriptionPIONIER 0030 SYN FG is a mixture of iso-paraffins which are produced synthetically. This Product is pure, inert, colourless and odourless. It was authorized under the denomination Hydroge-nated poly-1-decene as a food additive according to the Directive 2004/457/EC. This means a real alternative to the medicinal and vegetable oils in the foodstuffs industry. Also the pharma-ceutical and cosmetic industries can profit of the versatile characteristics of this oil. Compared to vegetable oils which oxidize very quick becoming rancid and viscous,PIONIER 0030 SYN FG is thermal- and Chemical Denomination1-Decen, Homopolymer, hydrogenated orHydrogenated ProductionBasic material is usually the synthetic gas ethane which is polymerized up to by passing the in-termediate stage of the Alpha-Decene.

9 Contrary to mineral oil this production procedure results in a highly pure and in its composition exactly defined chemical compound of isoparaffins with carbon-chain lengths of C20, C30, C40, C50 and C60. Afterwards the mixture is distillated and hydrogenated twice.
