Beginningafter Christmas, I thought there was plentyof time to build Elijah Roth and Sons as amodule to fit my layout and to enter in thecontest.

August arrived and the building wasfurther away from completion, I realizedit was not going to happen. My goal wasto build the kit, transport it to the contestand, when the contest was done, put it inplace on my layout. This required a moreelaborate base than is usually needed withthese kits. The kit features a Water Wheelthat had to be near a water source. There's been plenty ofgood news since I last wrote you, aboveand beyond the sun starting its northwardjourney, so I'll start with that:First, our Winter Wonderland layout at theBoston Museum of Science was a greatsuccess. Many HUB members volun-teered to staff the exhibit. Takedown andremoval demonstrated that many handsmake light work.

Both our organizationand a significant attendance increaseimpressed the Museum's 'll get any changes to next year'sexhibit worked out this spring andsummer, and set to work again come effort has helped both the HUB andthe model railroading hobby; attendees atour NEMTE show mentioned it, and weadded several new members. I reiteratemy thanks to David (Shack) Haralambou, our Vice President, Dick Ball and every-one who helped with construction, trans-portation and , our Spring TRAINing show andAnnual Meeting are lined up for Saturday,March 16, at Worcester State clinics, including Joe Fugate's, lookgood and the Banquet speaker will beinteresting.

Hope to see you there, but ifyou can't attend, be sure to vote in theBoard of Directors election. Four candi-dates have volunteered for the three BoDseats to be filled. You'll find biographiesin the January-February Headlight andmore Spring TRAINing details later in thisissue. My thanks to all for stepping , Gerry Covino changed his mind, and with the Board's consent, will con-tinue as Treasurer. He's already shiftedmany non-Treasurer jobs to other HUBvolunteers, so we all hope he'll finally beable to make a good start on a home , there is also bad our Module Group put on twoevents in January, drawing quite a crowdat West Springfield, no one has volun-teered to replace Dick Ball as our ModuleCoordinator.

The Module Group's charterdoesn't allow the Coordinator to be aBoard member. Board members andModule Group veterans will help out withchores like towing the trailer, making thelayout plans, working on the modules, job doesn't have to be as big as it hasbeen for some previous we don't get a new Coordinator in placeby the end of April, I'm not sure what our2019-2020 calendar will look like. At aminimum, we'd probably get a layouttogether for our NEMTE show, then prob-ably the Springfield Show (because every-one wants to go) and finally SpringTRAINing. If that leaves out shows youcare about, let me, Dick, Shack or JeffGerow know Coordinator Andy Reynoldscontinues to work with other HUBmembers towards special RAILFUNs onCape Cod and in the Worcester area.

Ifany members would like to try out aRAILFUN in their area, let Andy, PeteHiggins or me know. We can talk aboutlocation, time and topic for any time the HUB's territory, the SeacoastDivision holds Derry Fun Night on thesecond Friday of the month( ). Their Spring Eventwill be in Newington, NH on April away, see the Central New YorkDivision's site ( ) for detailsof their "Ops Till You Drop" weekendApril 27-28 and the 2019 NortheasternRegion "Empire Junction" conventionSeptember 19-22, near the longer term, the NortheasternRegion Board of Directors approved theHUB's proposal for the 2020 will be October 9-12 (Columbus Dayweekend) in Westford, MA.
