2 Where can I see examples of HEATHLAND SCRUB COMPLEX at WINGAROO ? This community can be found at WINGAROO Nature Reserve, north of Carnacs Flat on Flinders Island. Why is HEATHLAND SCRUB COMPLEX at WINGAROO important and what are its management issues? This rare HEATHLAND SCRUB COMPLEX has a very high number of plant and animal species occurring in a relatively small area which makes it important for the protection of biodiversity. Several threatened plant and animal species occur in this HEATHLAND SCRUB COMPLEX , including horny cone-bush (Isopogon ceratophyllus) and the New Holland mouse (Pseudomys novaehollandiae). HEATHLAND SCRUB COMPLEX at WINGAROO is resistant to invasion by weeds, provided that soil nutrient levels are not raised.

3 It may be susceptible to dieback caused by the cinnamon fungus (Phytophthora cinnamomi), which has the potential to eliminate many heath species.
