1 Highlights of Index of Industrial Production (IIP) December, 2018 (Base: 2011-12=100) ** Growth of Index of Industrial Production (IIP) (Table-1) Sectoral Industry Groups The weightage of Manufacturing, Mining and Electricity Production in overall Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is per cent, per cent and per cent respectively. The IIP registered growth of per cent in December, 2018 over the Index of December, 2017. IIP growth rate of November, 2018 revised downwards from per cent (provisional) to per cent. The growth for Index of Manufacturing, Mining and Electricity was per cent, (-) per cent and per cent respectively during December, 2018. IIP registered Cumulative growth of per cent during the period April to December, 2018-19 over corresponding period of previous year. The Index of Manufacturing, Mining and Electricity sector grew by per cent, per cent and per cent respectively during April to December, 2018-19 over corresponding period of previous year.

Use-based industry groups As per the Use-based classification, the Index for Capital goods, Infrastructure/construction goods, Consumer durables and Consumer non-durables registered positive growth of per cent, per cent, per cent, and per cent respectively while the Index for Primary goods and Intermediate goods registered negative growth of (-) per cent and (-) per cent per cent respectively during December, 2018.

3 Cumulatively, for the period April-December, 2018-19, Primary goods, Capital Goods, Intermediate goods, Infrastructure/construction goods, Consumer Durables and Consumer non-durables registered positive growth of per cent, per cent, per cent, per cent, per cent and per cent per cent respectively. 2-digit NIC-2008 industry groups 13 industries having weight of in IIP (Base: 2011-12) registered increase in Production during December, 2018.
