Relevant cost indices with referenceto base 100 as shall continue to be applicable on these plinth area rates for works inprogress , the need for issuing fresh plinth area rates has been felt to account for rise in pricesin the last 5 years as well as the latest development in construction practices such as fire safetymeasures for high rise buildings and also incorporating the green buildings concept for three starrating of.

7 Fresh plinth area rates with reference to base 100 as on has beenprepared for circulation in the department. In future, Preliminary Estimates may be prepared on thebasis of these plinth area the rates are based on data of actual expenditure for structures completed recently, asreceived from various field formations.
