It s extremely important to use the highest quality pucks and mallets, ifyour table is to play properly and achieve maximum Dynamo yellow puck is made of glass-filled Lexan and was developed specifically forthe Dynamo Air hockey table .

This deluxe puck has been designed and tested for superiorspeed, visibility, durability, and stability on the table . The yellow Lexan puck is the best puckon the market and we highly recommend its use. Avoid the cheaper, imported pucks (usuallyred, green, or orange) which are slower, chip more easily, and tend to fly off the table , resultingin loss of time, loss of earnings, and player available is our white quiet puck, made from a softer, noise-reducing material. Some-what slower and less bouncy than the yellow Lexan puck, the quiet puck is recommended insituations where noise reduction is deluxe mallets (white) are super-durable, and will easily outlast and outplay the light-weight Taiwan imports many times Dynamo -approved pucks and mallets are available from a number of parts sure to specify the deluxe, Dynamo pucks and mallets.

Call your Dynamo distributor orDynamo for information on purchasing these and any other Air hockey - Also enclosed with your table is a piece of adhesive-backed should be attached to the side or end of the table , or nearby, so players can sand the puckwhen it stops floating properly due to small nicks and abrasions. Do not attach the sandpaper tothe back of the metal goal end (where it will rub away the pants leg of your players!). Sandpa-per strips (fine grade) can be obtained at a hardware store, from Wico or other parts companies,or from Dynamo distributors. Sandpaper, like pucks and mallets, should be replaced whenexcessively the table - We highly recommend rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) toclean the plastic laminate surface.

Use a small amount on a clean paper towel to clean off dustand dirt which will slow the puck. Liquid window cleaners are also acceptable. Clean the tableonce a week, or more if necessary. DO NOT USE silicone, waxes, or anything else which coatsthe surface and/or plugs up the holes. Once every year or so, check the air-holes and use a stick-pin to punch out any holes clogged with dirt. (Note - when cleaning the table surface, DO NOTclean off the side rails [where the puck hits]. Believe it or not, the thin layer of dirt actuallymakes the pick bank properly and keeps it on the table ).

AIR FILTER - Check the air filter underneath the blower about once a year and changewhen necessary. The air filter is 10 x 20 x I , a standard furnace filter available at anyhardware store.*Ax Ilockey is a registered trademark of Rtunswick LIGHTING - Make sure the table is well - and evenly - lit. Overhead drop light-ing is excellent. When using a pool- table -style drop light, make sure it is mounted high enoughso that either player will not bump his head when leaning forward. Good lighting is very impor-tant; a dimly-lit table can discourage players and significantly reduce DRINKS ON table !

- Any liquid spilled on the surface should be wiped upimmediately. Large amounts of beer, soft drinks, or other liquid can seep down the holes and intothe woocl, possibly~warping the top. We recommend that you prohibit drinks from_beingplacedon the table at any time. Protective plastic side shields are effective in discouraging customersfrom putting drinks on the SHIELDS - The Plastic side shields are an option for your Air HOCKEYTABLE ; they are useful in keeping the puck from leaving the playing surface and in protectingchildren who tend to wander up to the table and place their fingers upon it.

We stock and recom-mend a particular brand of these shields which is designed at a 90 degree angle (straight up) fromthe table surface, thereby minimizing interference with play. Call your Dynamo Distributor topurchase these SURFACE REPAIR - The plastic laminate top is the best and most durable surfaceon the market, but it is not indestructible. Like any other piece of equipment, it is susceptible tovandalism. A hard, sharp object (bottle, glass, or mallet) smashed onto the surface at a spot overthe air channels can cause a dent. Unlike other surfaces, however, the formica top is easilyrepaired without affecting the quality of clear epoxy to fill a dent in the surface.

If there is an actual hole in the top, allow theepoxy to set up slightly so it won t run down into the air channel. Or use putty underneath tokeep the epoxy from running down and blocking the channel. Some operators use a short sectionof a plastic straw to keep the air channel clear, Fill the dent with epoxy to the surface level andallow to harden, then sand off the filled area, if necessary, so it is level with the surroundingsurface. Your table will play as good as new. If desired, you can redrill the air hole (l/32 drillbit), although this isn t JUSTABLE TIMER - Your table has an adjustable timer which will shut the game offafter a certain time period even though neither player has scored 7 points.

The timer is pre-set atthe factory for a maximum playing time of seven minutes. We recommend leaving it at thissetting; the average game ends within three to four minutes, far short of the timer SOFTWARE DESCRIPTIONThe following is a general flow description of the Dynamo Air hockey Game System Con-trol Program residing and executing in the 8748 microprocessor. The sequence here is predomi-nantly chronological beginning from power up Power Up Reset: On board diagnostics begin. This self test checks out processor internalRAM, and determines that the onboard timer/counter used for game timing is functioning cor-rectly.

Any error condition here is displayed as a flashing 2- digit error code number on thescore/credit 7-segment displays. See the Error Codes Section of this document for diagnostics pass, the entire system is initialized. The processor is set up, all I/O ports areflushed and their data directions set up, all RAM variables are cleared, and coin drop/creditinterrupt processing is Attract Mode: A/C pump motor and goal solenoids are turned off redundantly just incase. The last game s score and the current number of pending credits (if any) are shown on thered 7-segment displays, as follows:First, l/2 second of all blank display, then 3 seconds of scores display for left andright player, then l/2 second for a c (for credit) on each, then 3 seconds of 2- digit credits, andnumber from 00 to 50 , read left to sequence continues until a game is started.
