Kerala is the most Christian state in India it has more churches than any other region. The leading Catholic volunteering charity, the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVP), is very active there and they are doing great work helping the victims of the flood in local communities. However, they desperately need funds. Please contribute to the SVP s Kerala appeal. To donate visit , telephone 020 7703 3030 or send cheques made out to SVP (write Kerala appeal on the back) to SVP, Romero House, 55 Westminster Bridge Road, London SE1 7JB. Please remember our sisters and brothers in Kerala in your prayers. Recovery from Divorce and Separation next series of meetings starts 19 September.

To attend please contact Maureen O Brien 07967 753371. Singing / Music Survey Thank you to more than half of Mass attenders who took the trouble to take part in our August survey. 4 out of 5 people enjoy singing and 9 out of 10 enjoy listening to music and singing. 9 out of 10 like singing hymns and half like to sing other parts of the Mass. Importantly two thirds of people find that music & singing helps them to pray although 1 in 20 find it a distraction from prayer. 1 in 8 like quiet music playing and 1 in 10 like silence before &/or after Mass and during communion. Please take a copy of the full survey results handout or have a look at the results poster at the back of church.

Watch this space for the next instalment!! Praying with the Pope in September Young People in Africa That young people in Africa may have access to education and work in their own countries. Eucharistic Congress 2018 and Synod 2020 Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at St Joseph: Mass 10am adoration until Evening Prayer 6pm. THIS THURSDAY 6 September. Eucharist Real Presence Jesus Christ is present with us as he promised, as we gather in his name, pray, at Mass and when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration. His presence shows the truth of his words recorded right at the end of Matthew s Gospel when he said: I am with you always.

Jesus is present, and would like us to acknowledge him. And so we give him our presence. At Mass we take part in the Last Supper. During Adoration we remain in Jesus abiding presence. Ladies 'Singing for Fun' returns on Tuesday September 18th. We meet in the Church Hall from 7pm until 8pm and the cost is 2 per session. It would be great to see some new faces so please come along and join a small, friendly choir. There is no long term commitment, no auditions and no need to read music. Come and have a try. The Children s Liturgy Team are looking for more helpers. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who would like to be more involved in the Church and it is great experience for anyone thinking of a career working with children.

The commitment is about once every 6 weeks and every volunteer has a DBS check. If you are interested then please come out to one of the Liturgy sessions in September and talk to one of the team. Children s Liturgy resumes this Sunday at the Mass.
