1 GRADE. 10-11:3S 1-3. HOME GRADE 0AM. 1-2:30SP 4-8. School M. PROGRAMS. As rising stewards of the environment, students will participate in educational activities while learning how to become advocates of conservation in their communities. Investigating nature in a positive light will encourage students to educate others on how to practice environmental awareness each day. SEPTEMBER 19: NATIONAL THREATENED SPECIES DAY - Students will hear from a member of the Sawfish Conservation Society and will learn about the efforts we are taking to protect these animals. OCTOBER 17: CITIZEN SCIENCE Students will learn about citizen science projects and will participate in a bird study where the data they find will be used in a national study! NOVEMBER 14: WORLD FISHERIES DAY Students will learn why sustainable seafood is better for the environment as well as for your body!
2 Everyone will receive a seafood watch card to help make the best choice when purchasing seafood. DECEMBER 19: CONNECTING ART & NATURE Students will explore the maritime forest ecosystem at myrtle beach State park and tap into your creative side as we turn nature into art. JANUARY 16: SHARK DISSECTION BACK AGAIN BY POPULAR DEMAND! Students will learn about the internal and external anatomy of a shark and will dissect in groups. *Book early for this Program as it fills up quickly and we have limited spots available!*. FEBRUARY 20: INVASIVE SPECIES AWARENESS This Program will introduce students to invasive species and will provide information on what you can do to prevent their spread. Students will participate in a game where they will see firsthand how invasive species effect ecosystems. MARCH 20: BIRDS OF PREY/OWL PELLET DISSECTION Students will learn about birds of prey and dissect an owl pellet!
3 APRIL 17: EARTH DAY CELEBRATION Join us on this day for a beach clean-up followed by a shark tooth hunting session! MAY 15: WORLD TURTLE DAY We are planning an end of the year field trip! Meet us in Topsail Island, NC for a day of fun! Activities will include shark tooth hunting, shell identifying and an educational visit to the Karen Beasley Rescue & Rehabilitation Center. *This trip will be an additional charge per person*. *all topics subject to change*. RESERVATIONS. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance of the Program date. Home School families with annual passes may attend programs for $ per child (grades 1-8). Full payment is due upon booking. There are no refunds for any programs unless we must cancel the Program . If you need to cancel your reservation and you do so more than 24 hours in advance of the Program date, we will hold your payment as credit for a future Program as long as it is within that School year.
4 If you cancel within 24 hours of the Program date or you do not show up for the Program , you will not be refunded and payment will not be transferred to another date. Ext. 3223
