Changes to MRTQ PDN Training Schedule MRTQ PDN has made the following changes to the way we announce our training schedule: Training registration now opens twice each year, which is a change from the previous quarterly schedule. The new schedule is: o December 1st Registration open for training beginning January 1st June 30th o June 1st Registration open for training beginning July 1st December 31st Training announcements will run in our weekly e-newsletter, SHORT cuts, and will no longer be included in the quarterly Pathways newsletter. All MRTQ Registry members with web access automatically receive SHORT cuts.

MRTQ PDN is excited to announce the statewide launch of a new, free professional development resource: the Quality Improvement Toolkits (QITs). With generous funding from the Davis Family Foundation, MRTQ PDN created four self-paced, on-demand, online QITs addressing the following topics: Program evaluation The QITs will be available through the MRTQ. Professional development planning PDN website beginning in September. Assessment of child progress Watch for an announcement in SHORT cuts Creating a curriculum framework soon! How do the QITs work?

5 Anyone can access the QITs online. There is a quick self-enrollment process where you will provide an email address (that will not be shared). There is a brief introductory module that explains the QITs and how to use them, then you can proceed in any order and at whatever pace works best for you. What types of programs will benefit from the QITs? Family child care programs, center-based programs, out-of-school time programs, public preschool programs, nursery schools, and Head Start can all benefit from the QITs. There are two versions of each QIT one for home-based/family child care programs and another for center-based programs. The resources in each QIT are geared toward the needs of the different types of programs. Will I get training hours for completing the QITs? The QITs are not training and training hours and certificates will not be given. The QITs guide individuals through creating action plans regarding the topic areas, but there are no submitted assignments or interaction with an instructor.
