Customs declarations and language: One non-adhesive form and despatch note (a separate set for each parcel). Declarations should show the Post Office serial number of the parcel and should, as far as possible, be prepared in French as well as in English and in accordance with the classification of the French customs tariff. Weights and measures should be shown in the metric system. Prohibitions: Absinthe; arms (except sporting guns admitted under permit); coins, banknotes, currency notes, travellers cheques, securities of any kind payable to bearer, platinum, gold or silver (whether manufactured or not), precious stones, jewels or other valuable articles, except in insured items; saccharin; subversive documents; tobacco; radioactive materials; contraceptives.

Address: The address of a parcel intended for delivery through a bank or other intermediary should not contain any reference to the ultimate consignee, but the latter s name and address should be enclosed in the parcel. Invoice: A copy of the relative invoice should be enclosed in the parcel. Packing: Parcels should be very strongly packed. Prohibitions: Bees, leeches, silkworms, parasites and destroyers of harmful insects; cancelled or uncancelled postage stamps, and stamp collections sent to private persons, corrected proofs and printed matter with marked words or phrases; documents, printed matter, photographs, pictures and so on likely to be construed as prejudicial to the views of the Republic of Georgia; explosives and combustible and other dangerous substances; immoral articles or materials; letters may not contain documents having the character of current and personal correspondence exchanged between persons other than the sender and the addressee or persons living with them, live animals.
10 Local and foreign currency, banknotes, travellers cheques and other valuable documents; military weapons and firearms, ammunition, cartridges; narcotics, psychotropic substances, hormonal and blood preparations; perishable biological substances; platinum, gold and silver, and articles thereof; precious stones, articles of jewellery and other valuable articles; radioactive substances; tear gas and nerve gas, and the weapons adapted for their use; written messages (other than brief information about the contents) sent by insured letters. Restrictions: Apply to the importation of: Books, newspapers, magazines, other printed papers and manuscripts (one copy of each kind only) are admitted after inspection by the appropriate authorities; engravings, maps and musical scores (not more than one copy of each kind); fashion plates (one copy only) unless sent through the printed papers service; items under wrapper containing scientific and technical reference material unless sent by libraries or firms to State libraries, trade unions, scientific organization and so on; toxic substances and medical preparations unless with the authorisation of the Ministry of Health.
