A formal articulation agreement exists between the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning and the Mississippi Community College Board to help you map out your courses at Hinds so that your credits are guaranteed to transfer.

9 Registration for classes takes place before the fall, spring, and summer terms each year. First-time Hinds students must visit with a Hinds counselor at any of our six locations. A counselor will advise you and help you register for classes . When registration opens for the semester you would like to begin at Hinds, we invite you to come to any Hinds location to sign up for classes . No appointment is necessary. Submit an application for admission online at Submit or bring with you to the counseling offices your ACT scores, Accuplacer scores, or a college & Placement Hinds uses ACT or Accuplacer scores to place first-time college students in the appropriate classes . First-time college students who have not had the ACT must take the Accuplacer, a free placement test given each week in a computer lab at all Hinds campuses. 10 If you have successfully completed three credit hours of English and three credit hours of Math, test scores may not be required. Students not ready for college-level coursework will first take developmental courses, which could require additional time to complete an associate s s that guarantees that employers will be satisfied with the entry-level skills our career and technical students attain in their field of study, or Hinds will provide an additional nine credit hours Career and technical programs can be one to two years in length. These programs may result in a Career Certificate, Technical Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science degree. Hinds offers nearly 80 career and technical program options, which give you hands-on training for a specific profession. After completing a career or technical program, you are ready for the workforce! You do not have to continue to a university to complete a bachelor s degree. However, some Mississippi universities have specialized bachelor degree programs in applied science or applied technology specifically for career and technical graduates.
