Volatility is an important consideration in metalworkingapplications where misting is a concern. Generally,DIGLYCOLAMINE Agent is less alkaline than MEA andMIPA. It is somewhat more alkaline than either DEA orDIPA (diispropanolamine). 8 Both salts and condensates ofboric acid with a variety of amines have been in the literature suggest that the boric acid adduct ofDIGLYCOLAMINE Agent is quite effective in maintainingpH and resisting biodegradation (Table ).Published information (Table ) comparing the tendencyto form N-nitrosoamines in prototype synthetic and semi-synthetic cutting fluids shows a pronounced tendency toform these carcinogenic materials from secondary amineslike DEA and diisopropanolamine (DIPA).
