INCONEL alloy nickel-chromium-iron alloy 601 (UNSN06601 ) is a general-purpose engineeringmaterial for applications that require resistance to heatand corrosion. 1 INCONEL alloy nickel-chromium-iron alloy 601 (UNSN06601 ) is a general-purpose engineeringmaterial for applications that require resistance to heatand corrosion. 2 The alloy 's nickel base, inconjunction with substantial chromium content,provides resistance to many corrosive media and high-temperature environments. Oxidation resistance isfurther enhanced by the aluminum properties of INCONEL alloy 601 make it amaterial of broad utility in such fields as thermalprocessing, chemical processing, pollution control,aerospace, and power 601 is a standard material of construction forvarious types of thermal-processing applications include baskets, trays,and fixtures for annealing, carburizing, carbonitriding,nitriding and other heat-treating operations.
