Government of India has approved four Petroleum, Chemical and l Fine and Specialty Chemicals Petrochemical Investment Regions (PCPIRs) in the States of Andhra l Agro Chemicals & Fertilizers Pradesh (Vishakhapatnam), Gujarat (Dahej), Odisha (Paradip) and Tamil Nadu (Cuddalore and Naghapattinam) to promote investment and l Basic Chemicals, Dyes and Pigments industrial development in these sectors. The PCPIR is envisioned to reap l Chemicals from Herbal and other the benefits of co-siting, networking and greater efficiencies through use natural resources of common infrastructure and support services. l Paints and Coatings Each PCPIR is a specifically delineated region having an area of about 250 sq. km. wherein 40% of the area has to be for processing activities. l Soaps and Detergents l Clean Technology tie-up The State Governments carry out Environment Impact Assessment (EIA).
