1 Indigenous Education Resource Inventory1 Indigenous Education Resource InventoryThis Inventory is a non-comprehensive list of Indigenous Education resources that has been compiled by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the British Columbia Teacher s Federation, the First Nations Education Steering Committee, and M tis Nation British Columbia. The intent of these materials is to help further incorporate Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into classrooms. The Inventory includes guides, books and e-books, articles, websites, videos, and other materials. Educators may find this Inventory useful for supporting personal and profession Indigenous learning. 2 Ministry of Education (MOE) FNESC First Nations Land, Title, and Governance Teacher Resource Guide, Elementary/ Secondary This Resource includes materials to teach about First Nations unique and diverse systems of governance and nation-to-nation relationships, the historical and present-day impacts of colonization on First Nations governance, and contemporary First Nations government and self-government including perspectives of the Treaty and alternatives. First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) First NationsStudies Teacher sGuideThis Resource guide has been created to assist using the student Resource book, First Nations Studies. MOE FNESC Career Journeys: First Nations Career Role Model Resources These resources feature First Nations Role Models in a variety of career fields, aim to raise the awareness of First Nations youth and their families about career possibilities, and to show examples of how to navigate Education and training pathways to those careers.

4 The guide amalgamates and replaces two previous FNESC Resource guides: the English First Peoples 12 Teacher Resource Guide (2008) and the English First Peoples 10 and 11 Teacher Resource Guide (2010). It includes new material that reflects changes to the curriculum, more recently published First Peoples literature, and evolving educational practice. The guide has the following goals: contribute to reconciliation for all by building greater understanding of the skills, knowledge, and perspectives of First Peoples for all students ensure the inclusion of First Peoples knowledge and perspectives is done respectfully and without appropriating First Peoples knowledge encourage and support the respectful development of local teaching and learning resources FNESC First Nations Studies Teaching Resources These resources were developed to enhance First Nations studies, including the integration of Indigenous content into all subject areas.
5 MOE First Peoples Principles of Learning The First Peoples Principles of Learning were articulated by a group of Indigenous educators, knowledge keepers, and scholars in to identify the principles of learning generally held in common by Indigenous peoples in They were shared to help identify effective approaches to teaching and learning that resonate for Indigenous peoples. FNESC FNESC Authentic First Peoples Resources Guide for Use in K 9 Classrooms This annotated bibliography identifies authentic First Peoples texts (story and informational text) that have been written for a student audience. It is intended to help educators introduce resources that reflect Indigenous knowledge and perspectives in classrooms in respective ways. 6 FNESC FNESC Science First Peoples 5 9 Teacher Resource Guide This Resource includes foundational information and eight multi-grade thematic units designed to support increased integration of the rich body of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into middle years science classrooms in FNESC FNESC In Our Own Words: Bringing Authentic First Peoples Content to the K 3 Classroom This Resource guide offers information and guidance for K-3 teachers about how to incorporate authentic Indigenous materials into their primary classrooms. FNESC FNESC Indian Residential Schools and Reconciliation Teacher Resource Guides, Grades 5, 10, and 11/12 These unique, resources for grades 5, 10, 11, and 12 use age-appropriate literature, archival resources, and videos to increase students understanding of the historical context of residential schools and to develop students awareness of Canadians roles in the reconciliation process.
