The formal admission of internationalstudents is a two-part process. The first part evaluates academicadmissibility based on the application form and transcripts or marksheets provided. Applicants recommended for admission will benotified by the Graduate School of their eligibility for admission andthe application will begin the second part of the admission second part requires the demonstration of sufficient Englishproficiency (TOEFL, IELTS or PTE academic ) and financial resources(WSU Certification of Financial Support) to support graduate work inthe United first semester of enrollment at WSU for all International graduatestudents must be in the program to which the student was admission consideration, Applicants will upload copies of theirofficial documents into the online application portal.

2 If offeredadmission, WSU will require that the student provide an official copyof all postsecondary school transcripts, translated into English. If thetranscript does not indicate the award of a bachelor s degree or its degree, official copies of the degree certificate or diplomaare Applicants who have completed graduate work or haveattended a university will need to have an official transcriptshowing that work sent directly from the institution, or may submitofficial issued to student transcripts. Please note that in order to beaccepted, the transcripts must be received in the Graduate School officein envelopes sealed by the issuing programs will evaluate International Applicants based on theuploaded copies of official transcripts or mark sheets through at leastthe sixth semester of work in a four-year program.

4 If offeredadmission, Applicants whose native language is not English must submitofficial, acceptable scores for either the TOEFL, the academic Moduleof the IELTS examination, or the PTE academic . To be acceptable,the score must be sent to WSU directly from the testing agency, andmust be less than two years old. The minimum acceptable scoresfor most programs are: TOEFL 79 on the Internet-based test, or550 on the paper-based test. IELTS minimum overall band scoreof is required. PTE academic 58. Students completing theIntensive English program at WSU may establish English proficiencyby achieving a cumulative GPA of in Levels One through Six,and a grade of B+ or higher in Level Seven. Some programs do havehigher requirements for English proficiency.

Programs with higher requirements maystill require students to achieve these scores even if they complete theIELC coursework as described will be considered if the applicant has attended a college oruniversity in the United States as a full-time student for a minimum ofone year. Enrollment must have been in academic -only coursework (noEnglish language training courses), and must have resulted in a GPA or higher. In order to be considered for a waiver, this courseworkmust have been completed within two years of the proposed semester ofadmission at will also be considered if the bachelor s or graduate degreewas awarded from a university within two years of the proposedsemester of admission at following programs currently require a higher score than theminimum stated above.

If the transcriptdoes not indicate the award of a bachelor s degree or its degree, an uploaded official copy of the degree statementor diploma are required.
