Report any apparentdamage or material shortage to thecarrier and make a unit damage notation on the carrier's deliveryreceipt.
4 Specify the extent and typeof damage found and notify theappropriate Trane sales not proceed with the installationof a damaged unit without salesoffice checklistTo protect against loss due todamage incurred in transit, completethe checklist upon receipt of the unit. Inspect the individual pieces of theshipment before accepting theunit. Check for obvious damage tothe unit or packing material. Inspect the unit for concealeddamage as soon as possible afterdelivery and before it is stored. Concealed damage must bereported within 72 hours afterreceipt and confirmed byregistered delivery to the carrierand the Trane sales office. If concealed damage is discovered,stop unpacking the shipment. Donot remove the damaged materialfrom the receiving location. Takephotos of the damage, if owner must providereasonable evidence that thedamage did not occur afterdelivery. Notify the Trane salesrepresentative and arrange forrepair.
5 Do not repair the unit,however, until damage isinspected by the parts inventoryCheck all items against the shippinglist. Water flow switch (option),water-vessel drain plugs, isolationpads, rigging and electricaldiagrams, and service literature areshipped in the starter descriptionThe RTWB units are Helical -rotarytype, water-cooled, liquid chillersdesigned for indoor Installation . Theunits have two independentrefrigerant circuits, with onecompressor per circuit. Each RTWB unit is completelyassembled, wired, leak-tested,dehydrated, charged, and tested forproper control Operation prior toshipment. The chilled-water inlet andoutlet openings are covered RTWB series features Trane'sexclusive Adaptive Control logicwith Clear Language Display. Itmonitors the control variables thatgovern the Operation of the Control logic can correctthese variables, when necessary, tooptimize operational efficiencies,avoid chiller shutdown, and keepproducing chilled water.
6 Compressor unloaders are oilpressure operated. Each refrigerantcircuit is provided with filter,electronic expansion valve, andcharging valves. Locate and maintain the looseparts, for example, isolators, bulbwells, temperature sensors, flowsensors, or other factory-ordered,field-installed options, forinstallation, as required.
7 Install the unit on a foundationwith flat support surfaces, levelwithin 6 mm and of sufficientstrength to support concentratedweight. Place the manufacturer-supplied isolation pad assembliesunder the unit. Install the unit per the instructionsoutlined in the mechanicalinstallation section. Complete allwater piping and :Field piping must be arrangedand supported to avoid stress onthe equipment. It is stronglyrecommended that the pipingcontractor provide at least 1 m ofclearance between the pre- Installation piping and the plannedlocation of the unit. This will allowfor proper fit-up upon arrival of theunit at the Installation site. Allnecessary piping adjustments canbe made at that time. Where specified, supply and installvalves in the water piping upstreamand downstream of the evaporatorand condenser water boxes toisolate the shells for maintenanceand to balance and trim the system.
8 Supply and install flow switches orequivalent devices in both thechilled-water and condenser-waterpiping. Interlock each switch withthe proper pump starter and UCP2to ensure that the unit can onlyoperate when water flow isestablished. Supply and install taps forthermometers and pressuregauges in the water piping,adjacent to the inlet and outletconnections of both theevaporator and the condenser. Supply and install drain valves oneach water box. Supply and install vents cocks oneach water box. Where specified, supply and installstrainers ahead of all pumps andautomatic modulating valves. Supply and install refrigerantpressure-relief piping from thepressure relief to the atmosphere. Start the unit under supervision ofa qualified service technician. Where specified, supply andinsulate the evaporator and anyother portion of the unit, asrequired, to prevent sweatingunder normal operatingconditions.
9 For unit-mounted starters, cutoutsare provided at the top of thepanel for line-side wiring. Supply and install the wireterminal lugs to the starter.
