With proper installation, maintenance, and care your new refrigerator should give you many years oftrouble-free service. WAECO USA would like you to know that, should anyquestions or problems arise during installation or operation of your new WAECO refrigerator, our Technical Support staff is at your service at (860) 664-4911.
Ourregular business hours are 8:00AM-5:00PM Eastern Standard (USA) WAECO CR series refrigerator should not be modified in any way from itsoriginal form. Modification of the unit may be extremely hazardous and causepersonal injury or property INSTALLATION: CAREFULLY unpack the box and make sure that your new refrigerator is sittingupright. Check the packing list and make sure that all parts are included in thebox. PLAN YOUR INSTALLATION:There are many variables that make a difference between a good installationand a problem installation a refrigerator that will give trouble-free service andone that will have erratic or short operational life. Many problems that arise withrefrigerators can be traced to improper installation. A little planning can go along way toward having a reliable source of refrigeration. READ AND UNDERSTAND THE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION MANUALCOMPLETELY BEFORE ATTEMPTING INSTALLATION.
CAUTION!!Hazards associated with working with electricity include electrical shock andburns. Be extremely careful when working with electricity. Know all hazardsinvolved and observe safe practices to avoid careful when lifting refrigerators. Refrigerators can be heavy objects. Knowhow to handle objects of its size and weight and avoid twisting or unusualpositions while supporting care when moving and handling the refrigerator. Use gloves to prevent injuryfrom sharp lines contain gases. Be very careful when handling. Do not kink, dent, or lift unit by the door or refrigerator is not waterproof. Avoid direct contact with away from heat sources in a dry and well-ventilated environment. It is necessary to have a trained technician do the installation in wet not operate the appliance if it is visibly you throw away your old refrigerator or freezer: Take off doors Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb Page 4 DANGER: RISK OF CHILD ENTRAPMENTELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTSThe Danfoss compressor is powered by an internal 12V DC brushless motor.
TheDC brushless motor operates by a continuous loop of information passingbetween the electronic module and the compressor. Because this operationrequires a clean and uninterrupted supply of direct current power, it isrecommended that the refrigerator have a direct connection to the it into the fusebox, terminal block, buss bar, or another electrical circuit, may subject the supply voltage to electrical noise , or interference, which maydisrupt the informational loop and render the electronic module practice is to wire the unit directly to the battery with an inline fuse on thepositive (+) CR Series refrigerator should be wired on its own circuit. There should be noother electrical loads on the same circuit. Although 10 amp protection issufficient, 15 amp is preferable. The appliance must be wired and grounded in accordance with ABYC to the guidelines on page 5.
Failure to provide a sufficient wire size will result in an unacceptable voltage dropand inability of the refrigerator to Page 5 ABYC STANDARD - ABYC GUIDELINES E9 DIRECT CURRENT WAECOUSA Page 6 ABYC STANDARD - ABYC GUIDELINES E9 ALTERNATING CURRENT/AMPERAGEVENTILATION REQUIREMENTSIT IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL that a refrigerator have adequateventilation. It is not possible to have too much ventilation moreis better. A refrigerator removes heat from the refrigerated spaceand gives it off from the coils (condenser) on the back of it. Theheat MUST be removed from the rear of the refrigerator or itcannot operate ventilation may lead to premature compressor failureor inability to must be a minimum of 36 square inches of opening to theoutside for ventilation. Two openings are recommended. Ventilation air must have a clear path in (supply) and a clear pathout (discharge). There must be a minimum of 4 clearancebehind the refrigerator.
Use combinations of A1 and A2, B1 andB2, or C1 and C2 as shown goal is to provide as much ventilation as all vents are created equal. Vents should be positioned sothat they allow warmer air to escape from the top, and be replaced by cooler air entering from the This drawing is not to scale. Vent size is exaggerated for Page 7 INSTALLATIONThe refrigerator must sit upright for a minimum of 8 hoursprior to PREPARE THE SITEThe refrigerator should have solid, secure support. Measurethe opening to determine that you have proper clearance forinstallation. Do not install in direct sunlight or near a gas stove, heater, or other heat-generating device. Avoid hot water linesor warm air sure that sufficient electrical power is connected perelectrical requirements as outlined. Also be sure that you haveenough length of wire to service the unit outside of theopening. Ensure that sufficient ventilation is provided perventilation requirements.
Verify that there is enough room forthe door to swing open with the refrigerator REVERSING THE DOOR SWING. If the door needs to be reversed, remove the four screws thathold the top front panel. Remove the top hinge and panel support by the three screwsthat hold them. Lift door off bottom hinge. Remove the bottom hinge by three screws. Reinstall the bottom hinge on the opposite side. Install door onhinge and close door. Reinstall top hinge and panel support onopposite sides. Reinstall top INSTALL THE FRAME. Use the screws Page 8 INSTALLATIONWAECOUSA Page 94. MAKE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS. Make sure that polarity (+ and -) is correct on DC CAREFULLY INSERT UNIT INTO OPENING until frame is against SCREWS THROUGH SCREW OPENINGS IN FRAME andscrew into Page 107. ALLOW REFRIGERATOR TO SIT FOR 1 HOUR BEFORE STARTING. 8. START REFRIGERATOR AND CHECK FOR PROPER , on the rare chance that your WAECO refrigerator doesn twork correctly, verify that the installation was not at fault byremoving refrigerator and allowing it to rest in an open spacefor an hour.
Connect it directly to a fully charged battery andturn it on. If the problem persists, contact WAECO at (860)664-4911 before attempting cannot be held responsible for any deviation from this setof instructions. Slide in preferred face door handle, re-fasten 4 screws, re-apply rubber most front-loading refrigerators, the CR Series face panel is interchangeable while installed in your boat or Page 12 BEFORE STARTING YOUR NEW with a mild cleaner to assure cleanliness and that it is only operated within the design parameters.
The design temperature range is 14 110 F (-10 43 C) andnot above 90% relative VENT:In the VENT position the door will be held open slightly to allowfor air circulation to the inside of the refrigerator. This will helpto inhibit the growth of mold and mildew and avoid odorsOPERATIONWAECOUSA Page 13 SETTING THE THERMOSTAT:The thermostat regulates the temperature of the refrigerator. Itis calibrated by numbers, 1 being the warmest setting and 7 being the coldest setting. Start with the thermostat at a setting midway between thewarmest and coldest setting. After unit has reached a steady-state temperature, adjust as necessary to maintain desiredtemperature. Do not make large adjustments. Adjust by smallincrements and let cool before that, should you load your refrigerator excessivelywith warm food, it may take a very long tome to cool down. Toavoid this hot pull-down condition, pre-cool food, or add onlysmall amounts of warm food at a time.
This will avoidunnecessary work by the cooling system and save on yourenergy :There areTWO LED Snext to the thermostat. One is green duringnormal operation.
