Shall be furnished andinstalled by the Contractor and be capable of meeting the specified operating shown shall be the minimum to be considered. The Contractor shall design andfabricate all components to operate satisfactorily in accordance with the design conditions. Thesubmersible pump and control panels from the following manufacturers or approved equals, isacceptable:ITT Flygt CorporationYeomans PumpGorman-Rupp , CT 06611 Aurora, IL 60598 Mansfield, OH 44901(203)380-4700(630) 236-5500(419) 755-1011 WET WELLS AND VALVE VAULTThe wet wells and valve vault structures shall consist of precast reinforced concrete, whereapplicable, frame and cover, top and base slab as shown on the contract access door shall be cast into the top slab of the DUPLEX pump STATION wet well.

Provide smoothsurfaces for field mounting of pump rail lifting material used to backfill the excavation shall conform to the requirements of C, Select Granular Fill and Select Structural wells shall have reinforced plastic steel steps bolted through the wet well wall under the accesscovers. Steps shall be placed 300 mm on center and extend to the bottom slab of the wet and install check and gate valve(s) where shown on the Contract Plans. Provide and installa valve vault with cover hatch for the valves.

All pipe joints within the DUPLEX pump STATION wet well and valve vault shall be flanged. PUMPSP umps shall be of non-clog, centrifugal type with recessed impeller and a SUBMERSIBLE type shall be installed on a lift-out rail type M - SUBMERSIBLE DUPLEX PUMP STATION11/13/01 Page 2 of 11 Wet well dimensions and specifications have been written to accommodate two (2) Flygt SeriesCP3300, impeller model 467 pumps . The Contractor may submit an alternate manufacturer s pumpto be deemed equal if it meets the minimum requirements specified pump shall have a capacity of LPS at a total dynamic head of pump unit shall have a minimum efficiency of 74 percent at the designed operating shall be one (1) piece cast iron and capable of passing a 75mm solid.

The impeller hubshall be provided with a keyway and key and will be locked to the pump shaft and retained with anexpansion pumping unit shall be constructed in accordance with ASTM Specifications No. A-48, Class35B, which shall include cast iron for motor, integral support legs, pump casing and impeller. Allpipe flanges shall be faced and to the thickness required for compliance with kPa pressurerating (125 pound American Standard). Bolt slots are acceptable in lieu of drilled unit shall be furnished with an internal and external cooling castings shall be of high tensile cast iron and shall be treated with phosphate and chromic rinseand be painted inside and out with baked-on epoxy paint after machining.

All fasteners shall beType 304 stainless steel. The pump casing shall be of the volute type and be of one (1) piece castiron construction and of center line discharge design shall incorporate metal to metal contact between machined surfaces. Criticalmating surfaces where watertight sealing is required shall be machined and fitted with Nitrileand Vitron rubber motor shall be NEMA B design, of the high efficiency sealed SUBMERSIBLE type rated 60horsepower at 1780 RPM, 60 shall be wired for three (3) phase, four (4)

Wire 460 volts motor and the pump shall be produced by the same motor nameplate horsepower rating shall not be exceeded by the brake horsepowerrequirement for the impeller diameter heat sensor thermostat shall be attached to the top end of the winding and be connected inseries with the motor starter in the coil control box to stop the motor and activate an alarm if thetemperature in the motor rises to over 125 oC. Thermostat is to reset automatically and restartmotor when temperature drops to safe shall have two (2) bearings to support the motor rotor.

The lower bearing shall be a two rowangular contact bearing to compensate for axial thrust and radial forces. Single row lower bearingsare not acceptable. Bearing shall be in accordance with electric motor specification L-10, life ofITEM M - SUBMERSIBLE DUPLEX PUMP STATION11/13/01 Page 3 of 1125,000 hours and at any design operating point within + 40% of flow at the best efficiency point(BEP) of the common pump/motor shaft shall be of 400 series stainless steel, suitable for the storm water tobe pump shall be provided with a tandem mechanical shaft seal system consisting of two totallyindependent seal assemblies.

The seals shall operate in a lubricant reservoir that hydrodynamicallylubricates the lapped seal faces at a constant rate. The lower, primary seal unit, located between thepump and the lubricant chamber, shall contain one stationary and one positively driven rotating, corrosion resistant tungsten-carbide ring. The upper, secondary seal unit, located between thelubricant chamber and the motor housing, shall contain one stationairy and one positively drivenrotating tungsten-carbide seal ring. Each seal interface shall be held in contact by its own springsystem.

The seals shall require neither maintenance nor adjustment nor depend on direction ofrotation for following seal types shall not be considered acceptable nor equal to the dual independent sealspecified: shaft seals without positively driven rotating members, or conventional double mechanicalseals containing either a common single or double spring acting between the upper and lower sealfaces. No system requiring a pressure differential to offset pressure and to effect sealing shall pump shall be provided with a lubricant chamber for the shaft sealing system.
