1 YOUTH GROUP is a MINISTRY of First Baptist Church of Omaha First Baptist Church of Omaha Forward in Faith Empowered by Spirit JOB DESCRIPTION FOR: YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR Announcement First Baptist Church of Omaha seeks a part-time YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR to join its staff team. The primary responsibility of the YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR will be to provide leadership for the YOUTH GROUP MINISTRY . First Baptist is a congregation that reflects the cultural and socioeconomic diversity of Midtown Omaha, with a heart for serving its neighborhood. As such, the church is uniquely poised to address exciting opportunities for urban and cross-cultural ministries that can have a significant impact on the city of Omaha for the gospel of Christ.

2 Time Commitment Wednesday afternoons: 1:00pm 2:00pm (1 hour, negotiable) Wednesday nights: 6:00pm 9:00pm (3 hours) Sunday mornings: 9:30am 12:30pm (3 hours) Special events: Varies (3 hours average) Prep and meeting time: Varies (5 hours average) Total Weekly Commitment: 15 hours per week Provisions $600 - $900 per month salary, based on level of experience A mentoring arrangement with a Senior pastor who has real-life YOUTH MINISTRY experience A team of supportive volunteers already committed to YOUTH MINISTRY at First Baptist Administrative support from the First Baptist Office Manager A budget to support YOUTH MINISTRY expenses A YOUTH MINISTRY office at the church An opportunity to grow vocationally and personally in a unique setting with exciting urban and cross-cultural challenges Reporting Relationship The YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR reports directly to the Senior pastor .

3 Required Qualifications The successful candidate will be described by the following: Must be able to sign the YOUTH GROUP Leaders Covenant in good faith. Must pass a background check. Must be able to relate well to YOUTH and young adults. Must have a growing relationship with the Lord. YOUTH GROUP is a MINISTRY of First Baptist Church of Omaha Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to the candidate who: Is currently enrolled in or has completed a program at an accredited seminary in YOUTH MINISTRY , Biblical Studies, etc. Has experience working or volunteering in a local church setting. Has experience working with troubled YOUTH or in an urban MINISTRY setting. Specific Job Duties Be a Christian example in conduct and speech. Pray for and provide spiritual support to YOUTH GROUP adult volunteer team.

4 Pray for the students who attend YOUTH GROUP activities. Develop weekly Bible lessons for YOUTH GROUP meetings that are relevant to YOUTH , in accordance with direction provided by the pastor and the YOUTH MINISTRY Team Leader. Provide administrative direction and support for all YOUTH GROUP ministries, especially the Wednesday night and Sunday morning programs. Work with volunteer staff to maintain a healthy, respectful learning environment during YOUTH GROUP activities. Work with volunteer staff to manage discipline issues as they arise in accordance with the YOUTH GROUP Covenant. Coach Small Group Leaders, providing them with appropriate discussion material. Supervise games/activities as required. Assist with cleanup after YOUTH GROUP meetings and events.

5 Develop appropriate relationships and communication channels with students and their families, using text, Facebook, email, and other media. Work with volunteer staff to follow up on any behavioral or discipleship issues that may require attention. When necessary, report any issues, such as those involving possible abuse, that may require extra follow-up, to the Senior pastor and to the designated authorities. Ensure that all YOUTH GROUP volunteers are adequately trained and have current background checks on file. Work as a team player with First Baptist Church of Omaha Senior pastor and Staff to ensure YOUTH GROUP ministries advance the overall MINISTRY goals of the church family. Ensure that the 2-adult rule is strictly observed at all times in the context or working with students.
