1 Job Description Title AOI Verifier ( Automated Optical Inspection ) Non-exempt Department Manufacturing Reports to Production Manager Job summary This position operates the AOI machine and reviews machine identified defects for accuracy. Summary of essential job functions Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects. Load programs per documentation. Using magnification aids and stereo-microscopes, inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards.

2 Ability to recognize problems in the operation process or with components and to highlight/communicate those problems to machine operator for immediate correction. Minimum requirements Quality control and part identification experience. Successful completion of ESD Safety training and IPC-A-610 certification. A high school education or equivalent along with at least 2 years of relevant experience. Must exhibit knowledge and/or skill in operating equipment used in the area. Soldering experience toward IPC-J-STD-001 is helpful. Abilities required Ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English.

3 Ability to sit for the majority of the working day. Must be able to read and understand work routers, assembly drawings, component identification and component polarity. Basic PC Knowledge. Physical Demands The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. Employee will be using a microscope. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy.

4 The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building and production floor. Effectively communicate orally and written. The normal environment is typical of a manufacturing production floor environment.
