2 Ensuring the upkeep of all classroom percussion instruments, guitars (including ordering replacement strings as necessary), amps, leads, keyboards and headphones; 8. recording GCSE and A Level performances; 9. being available to assist with students ensemble recordings; 10. developing the Music Department s resources on the VLE; 11. setting up Main Hall or Walden Hall for all concerts; assisting the Music administrator with front-of-house and box office for major school events ( Music ); 12. assisting with the organisation of school concerts, including the booking of professionals for performances, producing and copying programme and publicity materials and attending and assisting at major school productions; 13.

3 Purchasing, preparing and photocopying Music for concerts/services/recording sessions; 14. maintaining up-to-date lists of membership of all ensembles, chasing absences, informing parents of rehearsals and concerts etc; 15. Maintaining the Music department s online profile, both through the school website and through the Tiffin Boys Choir website; being responsible for all material on these websites; 16. arranging choral and instrumental Music for ensembles; if hired, ensuring its collection and safe return; 17. editing and producing The Baton (the termly magazine of the Friends of Tiffin Music ); 18. designing publicity materials for concerts; 19.

4 Assisting the Drama Assistant in running gig nights and in providing sound for drama performances; 20. assisting the Music administrator in her duties The hours listed above are flexible depending on the requirements of the department and the availability of the Music Assistant a total of 25 hours per week is assigned to the duties above, with after-school / evening events additional to these. The ability to work as part of a team, to be proactive in addressing issues, and to take responsibility for organising musical activities, is essential; and the relationship with the Drama Assistant and the Music administrator is central to the successful operation of the department.

5 The remuneration is approximately 8,000 for the school year. In addition, there is the opportunity to gain additional work at the school outside these hours as a cover supervisor and exam invigilator.
